Excellent boutique hotel. Room was incredible, bright & airy, clean & brand new with comfortable bed & thick soft towels. Great staff, special thank you to the woman at check in, so very kind & helpful. Located at quiet leafy new neighborhood at edge of town. There were a few restaurants & stores nearby. Old town about 15 minutes walk away. A nice park right behind the hotel (down the steps) Do note that breakfast is at an outside eatery, their offerings were minimal.

To escape the frenzy of Kunming ancient town, we took a 2.5 hr train ride to Weishan - an authentic, uncommercialized old town with the splendid Yuan Chuang Yi Su hotel. The bed is super comfortable, and the window seat great for relaxing after a truly hot shower. Sanitized towels are delivered daily in sealed bags and CGTN for foreign guests is available on a huge TV! Yuan Chuang Yi Su's owner is a Mensch. His fluency in English and passion for his adopted town enriched our China trip. He sensed my vegetarian needs and whisked me off to the local market! Yuan Chuang Yi Su is the smartest, but the least expensive of our 28 day trip in Guangdong - Yunnan. We relished the smart set-up, the gleaming interior and delightful neighborhood of eateries. The hotel is truly a train-rider's dream: just 25 minute walk away from Weishan Railway station and 5 minutes from the inexpensive tourist buses that take you as far as Weibaoshan and East Lotus Village.

Recommended by family, it was indeed excellent. The guesthouse is right next to the ancient town, making it very convenient for exploring. The guesthouse is a traditional courtyard house with wooden buildings, exuding a classic charm. The courtyard is lush with flowers and trees, and there are several tea tables for relaxation, making it a truly pleasant place! The rooms were clean and tidy, and the owner was warm and patient.

I am very grateful to the front desks who were annoyed by me several times on the evening of August 9 because of the mistake of my itinerary schedule. I have to rush to catch the high-speed rail. The commercial atmosphere of the ancient city is not heavy. Follow a security guard at Lushan No. 1 Middle School around the city for a week. On the whole, Lushan is really a place that attaches great importance to literature and education. This is also because there are still many places that have not been there because of the itinerary. I will still have a chance next time. Xie Pye's birthday can come next year, and you can come at the Torch Festival next year. The ancient city of btw is simply a huge heavenly blessing pain city. The next day I went to Caobaoshan Wenchang Palace. There are caves, earth main temple, prince hall 🥺, and Changchun Cave, a national cultural protection unit. As an SLH hotel, I had high expectations before arriving, but was ultimately disappointed. However, it's not all bad. The following met my expectations: 1) Good maintenance and design of public areas 2) Xiao Gong from the restaurant was proactive and attentive to detail. 3) The alpaca feeder at the construction site in the backyard saw me looking at the alpacas through a gap in the back and pointed me through the bamboo grove in the construction area, even bringing me carrots to feed them (the message in the check-in group said carrots would be placed on the table, but they weren't). The following did not meet my expectations: 1) Poor soundproofing in the room, and limescale in the sink and stains on the bathroom walls; 2) I needed tea sets to send a message, but they weren't delivered to my room even after two days, and I was too lazy to send another message; 3) Besides the aforementioned food and beverage service and the shuttle service at the North Gate of the Old Town, there were no other services, and no proactive service was provided. The card making experience was completely self-service; you had to find the paper and ink yourself from the cabinet, resulting in the card making tools and boards being in poor condition.

I really like Donglianhua Village, which has a strong Islamic style. The owner of the inn, Pony, is super handsome and enthusiastic. He invited me to have dinner. His courtyard is clean and beautiful, and the rooms are also full of ethnic style, with small horse lanterns. The caravan culture is very authentic. I feel like I am a Ma Guotou. It is very convenient to go to Weishan Ancient City from the village. There is a minibus at the entrance of the village, which goes directly to Weishan Ancient City. The bus runs every half an hour. If you catch up with the market day, you can take the minibus. Go to Dianzhong Street or Temple Street to see the rich market. There is cattle and sheep trading. It is very interesting. It is a good place to learn more about Weishan County. The people are simple and warm. I like it very much.

You don't usually expect much from a hotel near a railway station, but this one's actually pretty decent and the owners are super welcoming. We even got upgraded to a bigger room with a mahjong table and spent a good chunk of time playing card games. The room comes with TV, AC, hairdryer, few bottles of water, some tea, and toiletries. Keep in mind: all rooms have squat toilets. Still, for the price, I'm really happy with this stay

This was my first time traveling alone to Weishan, and I stayed in this beautiful little courtyard. I met a very warm and generous auntie who kept feeding me and even let me have a meal – I'm so grateful! The young man even took me to the high-speed rail station and helped me with my luggage because I was in a hurry – 100% service! The guesthouse had a washing machine, a clothes rack, and free breakfast. It wasn't far from the ancient city either. The only minor drawback was that the water pressure in the shower in my room was a little low, but everything else was great. It would have been perfect if the room had a floor mat. I've only just left, but I already miss this city – its slow pace, its tranquility, and every kind person I met there. Weishan, I think I'll come back again.

No toilet paper. Just thin tissues. The room has little to none surfaces to put your own stuff. Room had no table, I had to ask for one, and it was delivered. So at least they tried to deliver an acceptable service. You can hear how your neighbors from all sides take shower or use toilet. Constant sound of loud running water. Sound isolation is terrible. After listening to all that for few hours, I packed my stuff and went to a nearby hotel. Would not recommend to anyone.
