Villa Azul

This is our second trip to Villa Azul which is a Vallarta Shores property. The last time we were here was seven years ago for my birthday - the only thing I regret is not coming back sooner! Let’s start with the staff - Estela was our house manager and every detail is attended to by her. Our chef was Carlo and the sous chef was Alejandra - delicious, fresh food literally everyday. Paulina made sure the house was immaculate on the daily and Pablo took care of any maintenance issues we had which were few. This place is incredible, totally relaxing and a fabulous place to get away. The house is five levels with three pools so there is plenty of space for people - you can have fun without feeling like you’re on top of each other. We came back here for a reason and we will be back much sooner than the time between our last trip and this one. I would recommend this place and Vallarta Shores without hesitation.

Villa Azul and all it’s staff has been an absolute dream! The food that was prepared for us has been nothing but amazing and delicious, everything was super clean and organized! The rooms, pools and common areas are incredible and we had a fantastic time! We had a girls/biz trip and it’s been the most magical place to do so! I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s been incredible! Thank you Villa Azul + Staff!

Wow - this Villa will not disappoint!!! Beautiful spacious bedrooms, wonderful lounge and pool area with swim up bar. Fantastic views with beautiful sunsets every night. Bonus was watching the whales in Banderas Bay daily. Our group of 15 people were in awe of the Villa, and the view. The staff definitely help make this place special. Thanks Estela, Paulina, Carlo, Alejandra & Pablo, a great team, always wanting to make your stay as nice as possible. See you again Villa Azul!

My overall stay at Villa Azul was excellent. I went with a group of 16. The rooms were spacious and cool. Much of the property is outside, including the kitchens, common areas and two bathrooms attached to the master. The residence was clean and. There are three pools, with the largest on being on the common level. We had a chef everyday, LuLu. We really enjoyed her. We had a few bumps, but it was all easily rectified and communicated. The other staff, including Paco (AKA Francisco) were all lovely and took great care of us. We decided on two meals daily. For 16 guests, the initial cost to stock was pricey but made sense for our group size. We asked Lulu to stick to a budget, and she was happy to do so after we discussed. Come with more cash than you would assume you need. Ubers were accessible, but Villa Azul is up a mountain, so call Ubers with 15-minute buffers, just in case. Cabs were around on some days. Being so open, expect some insects and lizards on property. The views of the bay were so amazing, and the sunsets were epic. We saw whales from the property Things we wished we knew before going: * Ask for more water and ice before arriving (We used Costco, no problem). The more the better * There are five levels to this property - lots of stairs * Lizards, insects and a big iguana were around - we embraced it! * Be very specific with food/beverage budget. Otherwise, shop on your own * Tipping is essential for the staff. 10% of total cost is appropriate * Uber Eats and other couriers do deliver to the property, including Starbucks * Laundry is not automatic but just ask housekeeping staff and they will do it for 200 pesos (plus we tipped). We would leave cash on top of hamper when we wanted laundry done after the first day we verbally asked * There are no built-in speakers. They provided two small pill speakers but we also brought our own * The staff is around during the day but you do not have them at night. They do not stay on premise over night * You can walk to a public spot on beach within 20 minutes, which also has a convenience store nearby

By far one of the best accommodations I’ve ever been too! This Villa has room for 16 and my group was 11 people. It has amazing views and great rooms. The Head Chef LuLu and Chef Assistant Juanita were amazing! Highly recommend you let them know what proteins you want and let them do the rest. Every meal was something different and LuLu was willing to make anything. My group and I wanted her to make the best things she could and gave her free rein to feed us, let me tell you, the best decision we could have made. Please ask for the tamales, I highly recommend them as they were amazing! Definitely the best I’ve had in a very long time. Also, for excursions and places to visit, ask them, the staff lives in the area and gave us great recommendations. Even booked us a last minute pair of massage therapists who came to the house for six of our group. Head Housekeeper Anita and her assistant/maintenance was amazing. Every morning she took care of our rooms, gave us fresh towels, and the pools always had those towels too. Laundry service was super fast, most of my group didn’t use it, but it was amazing. Overall, we had a pleasant and enjoyable experience. This is an outdoor living situation, only the bedrooms are indoors. So hydrate! For a group of mid twenties to early forties professionals we didn’t think this experience could get better day after day, and it did!!

The views are spectacular! The house was amazing and well maintained. The staff took great care of everything and chef Carlo and assistant Alie could not have been more accommodating. The food was truly delicious. They were friendly and kind. The service was great. Carlo made wonderful suggestions for fresh seafood dishes. The presentation of food was beautiful. The overall experience was something we will be talking about for years to come!
