Citywell Hotel (Quanzhou Food Street) Reviews

Worried about traffic in the old town, I chose a place not far from it. The mural at the entrance is very striking, making it easy to find. It's also convenient for buses and taxis right outside. Food deliveries are brought up by a robot. My nail chipped while I was out, and the front desk provided nail clippers – big thumbs up!

This hotel is pretty good. It's right on the edge of Quanzhou's old city, so transportation is convenient, but it avoids the hassle of driving and parking that you'd find right in the heart of the old town. The hotel has just been renovated, so the rooms are generally new and modern.

The hotel is located right on Food Street, which is the actual street name. The facilities are quite old. The toilet was clogged on our first day, and the clothes we washed in the washing machine were just tossed into a random basin, I'm not sure if it was clean, so I had to rewash them myself. That was really frustrating! Plus, you have to queue for the dryer! The only good thing is the location; it's convenient for getting everywhere.

The room was spacious and well-equipped with toiletries, which were replaced daily. However, the soundproofing in the hallway wasn't great. Breakfast offered a good variety. A suggestion: please provide disposable toilet seat covers that are of better quality or properly fit the toilet seat, as the one provided didn't fit at all and tore easily when stretched. Also, the cleaning staff didn't do a thorough job on the toilet; my child's urine splashed onto the side of the tank, and even after I covered it with tissue paper, the paper was removed, but the urine stain remained.

Rooms exceeded expectations - comfortable bed and shower, cosy lighting and decor, well-furnished and fully functioning! Staff were great as well. Especially appreciated the sincere attitude they had to answering my queries!

First, the service attitude of one of the receptionists was terrible. I don't understand how someone like that can hold such an important position. Her attitude was so bad it could ruin anyone's mood. Second, I had clearly pressed the 'Do Not Disturb' button in the room, and it was visible from outside, yet staff repeatedly knocked on the door and disturbed me. Once, they even just opened the door and walked in, saying they wanted to clean, which was incredibly rude. Absolutely no privacy! Third, the power in the room suddenly went out. I called the front desk, and the response I got was, 'Yes, there's maintenance today, but we don't know which rooms it will affect, and we didn't know you would be in your room, so we didn't inform you.' This is truly laughable and completely unprofessional. Shouldn't guests always be informed in advance about something like this? 'Don't know, don't know' seems to be their mantra. They said it would be fixed quickly, but the power kept going on and off intermittently 5-6 times. In short, avoid this place if you can. There are much better and more value-for-money hotels in Quanzhou. If you want a pleasant trip, steer clear of this one.

The hotel room type was excellent, the room was very spacious, the service was great, the transportation was convenient, and there were plenty of food options nearby.

I rarely write reviews, but booking this hotel was the best decision I made this trip. I've already recommended it to my friends. The location is great, close to several temples, and there are plenty of food options right outside. The front desk staff was lovely and even upgraded my room. For the price, it's excellent value for money – much better than hotels I've stayed at in Xiamen for a similar price. The room facilities are very new, and I was very satisfied. On my last day, they even held my luggage after check-out, so I could enjoy another half-day of sightseeing before heading to the airport. If I ever come back to Quanzhou, I'll definitely stay here again!

The room was great, and the front desk staff, especially the ladies, were really helpful. They let me up to my room several times when I forgot my key card. The robot downstairs was also adorable and delivered food. The soundproofing was pretty good too.

The hotel's location is pretty good, right on a food street, so finding places to eat was super convenient. It's also not far from the old city; you can walk to Guan Yue Temple in about 20 minutes, or take a 'little white car' (shuttle/golf cart). However, the hotel facilities are a bit old and worn out, and don't quite match the pictures.

The room is spacious and can accommodate four people. It's a well-known hotel in the area, perfect for family trips. The hotel service is also great; the front desk offers tea. 🥰 Very thoughtful service! They even asked in advance if there were any changes to our check-in plans when we made the reservation.

Very satisfied! You can use the swimming pool next door for just over 100 yuan, which is a great deal. The environment is excellent, it's very close to the ancient town, and the hygiene is impeccable – really clean and bright. Highly recommended!

The hotel is great, and the service is exceptionally good. Xiao Liu at the front desk was very professional. I'll definitely come again.
