Had booked this as our flight for our flights and hotel deal was rearranged so instead of extending the hotel booking, we book this as a nice treat for our honeymoon. We didn’t have a car and the public transport to the area was good. A bit of walking at the end which was annoying with our suitcases but nothing we couldn’t handle, just glad the ice and snow had let up! We did get a taxi back from Reykjavík at 1am after a tour and that took only 15 mins and cost around £35 on the Hopp app for reference. Collecting the keys from the key safe was easy given our check in information messages to us a few days prior to our booking. The dome was warm when we entered and the gift of macarons and a small bottle of fizz were appreciated! The hot tub was already on and to temperature. Had a lovely soak before our northern lights tour. When we got back at 1:30am, the dome had cooled a few degrees but wasn’t unbearable at 18°C. We move the heaters a little closer to the bed. I slept well and was warm. The bed was very cosy, and warm once you were under the duvet. My husband was a little chilly but that is likely our fault as we didn’t use the fire due to the fact we weren’t going to be in the dome for much of the evening. There were also blankets we could have used and a hot water bottle which we also could have used. We were just too tired when we got back that late! It was also -4°C outside so it was expected to have cooled down a little from the daytime temperatures in the dome. The kitchen facilities in the dome themselves were basic with a coffee machine and kettle but the kitchen facilities by the shared toilets were excellent. I was a bit worried after reading the negative reviews but was very pleasantly surprised with how different an experience we had. Would definitely come back!

When I arrived at the campgrounds, it did not strike me as a “luxury glamping” experience. It looked like the owners just randomly placed 3 domes in the middle of a dump. Definitely not a place I would pay $600+ to stay at. There is no one onsite to help you with any questions or issues that may arise during your stay (heating, plumbing, security, etc.). And good luck getting in touch with anyone. On top of being hard to reach, customer service was terrible! They only care about making money off of their customers, not about creating a great experience/accommodation for them.

We stayed at Golden Circle Domes for our honeymoon and unfortunately, the experience was far from what we had hoped. The dome was uncomfortably cold, with a heating system that couldn’t cope with the Icelandic weather. This made our stay miserable during what should have been a special occasion. After raising our concerns, the management promised a partial refund as a goodwill gesture. However, it has now been 30 working days, and despite numerous follow-ups, the refund has not been processed. Worse still, they’ve been completely ignoring my messages since then. £1200 for 2 nights - we feel like we have been robbed. Their lack of accountability and poor customer service is unacceptable. Promising compensation and then failing to deliver shows a complete disregard for their guests. I would not recommend staying here. Save yourself the disappointment and find accommodation that values its customers. Do not book at all costs, it’s not worth it!

We stayed in the King Suite for 1 night. The dome itself is nice and cozy but the lactation is something to be desired. I was under the impression that the location was secluded, however, it is not and located off a busy road in a construction zone. Also, my friend and I are not the biggest fans of spiders. We had tons in the room so it was very hard to sleep peacefully. I woke up with a spider in my bed. So if you are ok with them, you will not have any issues. I would just keep suitcases shut and zipped! My one star was because the concept of the dome was nice but horrible location and needs to be sealed to avoid any unwanted roommates. We never packed so fast to leave in our lives!

I’m glad I didn’t read these reviews before we stayed. My expectations were met with anticipating a glamping experience- beds were comfortable, it was a novel experience! Bathroom had running water and shower was hot. Kids were thrilled with the uniqueness and this was one of the highlights of the trip for them! We didn’t see any staff but we didn’t need to as we were provided instructions on accessing the dome. We were able to check in early which was appreciated with the overnight flight. There’s a small mini golf and foot golf course which we were able to use based on staying in the dome. In the fridge was two sparkling waters, Pepsis and mini champagnes. Outside of our King suite we had a hot tub and there was a small barrel sauna out on the yard.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!! This is an absolute fraud- the website does not represent what this place truly is. They never sent me my reservation details to get into my room, there is no reception or assistance at all. It is FAR from a luxury experience- located in the middle of industrial area, riddled with run down construction equipment, cars run off the road and garbage. I WASTED hours of my short trip trying to get any help- to then discover the customer service was absolutely terrible and not helpful or supportive at all. Do not waste your time or money here- they will not help you.

Four of us stayed in the Hekla dome that includes two beds, hot tub & private bath. It was awesome! The guests that slept in the bed by the fireplace were cold throughout the night when the fire went out (the warmth of the heater seemed to be directed up, not down at the bed), but the two of us in the upstairs bed were nice & warm all night. The beds were so comfy, hot tub was fun, place was clean & the entire experience was awesome/one of a kind! The staff were nice and super helpful too!

Don't waste your money! It's an overpriced tent and the amenities are seriously lacking. Set on top of an old landfill (we were informed by the locals) with zero protection from the elements. We had an absolutely terrible stay! The managers/owners of the property do not care one bit if you are unsatisfied and will ignore your emails once you contact them. A lot of money spent for a truly bad experience! Instead, I'd recommend Hotel Ranga, our stay there was beyond amazing, unlike the domes!
