Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel

The photos are really misleading; it looks completely different from the actual place. We booked an 'Exquisite Suite,' which turned out to be just one room with a living room, where an extra bed had been added. With the extra bed in the living room, the kitchen became practically unusable due to heavy smoke, shattering our dream of cooking our own meals. The room itself was quite small, and with the extra bed in the living room, there was barely any space to walk. It was on the top floor, with a very low attic ceiling and a small window. Soundproofing was poor; we could hear conversations from outside. The balcony door was broken and couldn't be opened, and the view was just average. Be careful with the main entrance; the automatic door opener is prone to catching hands! Check-in was in a different building. If you receive the address of the building you'll be staying in, you can have the taxi driver drop you off directly there, saving you the hassle of dragging your luggage around. To open the ground floor door, you need to pull it when you hear the mechanism (the 'push' sign on the door is incorrect). Cleanliness: Acceptable, cleaned daily. Location: Indeed excellent, right near the city center with many pick-up points for group tours. For 2500-3000 a night, I expected more space. Quite disappointed. (I was out early and back late every day, so I forgot to take photos).

The location is super convenient for city walks to Rainbow Street, the church, and supermarkets. The room was clean and tidy, perfect for cooking as it had basic supplies like oil and black pepper, plus a dishwasher. The front desk service was also very enthusiastic! Just remember that in Iceland, you need to bring your own toiletries and slippers, and there's no razor. Luckily, the supermarket is very close.

The room was exactly as pictured, and the location was fantastic, right in the city center with a bus stop just outside – very convenient for getting around. It came with a hairdryer and all the kitchen utensils you could need, making it perfect for group trips or family vacations. Definitely recommended! Plus, you can even see the Northern Lights from downstairs at the hotel.

Great location right on the main street, and it feels very safe. No need to check in at the front desk, which is convenient. It's easy to get everywhere from here, and the accommodations and services are good. Just a heads-up, they don't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste.
