"The hotel is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from the elevator exit of Kaohsiung Cianjin Station. 👍 The hotel definitely shows its age. The lobby had a strong aromatherapy scent that felt like it was trying to mask other odors (😅), and the hallways had a peculiar smell. Thankfully, the room itself was fine. While the carpet was stained, the bedding and other linens appeared reasonably clean. This hotel uses a self-service check-in system, with check-in starting at 4:00 PM. Early arrivals can store their luggage at the hotel. Amenities include a paid children's playground and a free swimming pool. In my opinion, the swimming pool is the hotel's best asset, making it an ideal stay for families with children!"

"It is situated rather close to airport, hence a bit far from everything else, especially good food. However is of walking distance to some major Japanese department store. The main thing of note is the lobby is situated on the 25th floor. One take one lift up to lobby and then another lift to rooms every time. The rooms were spacious, but the bottom of beds were not vacuum for days. Amenities were minimal and do not reflect on price of room. Electrical sockets were limited and USB sockets don’t work. Many of the decorations in the hotel or the rooms are not suitable for kids. The building itself seems new as many shops at low levels are not open or only at certain times. Hotel staff didn’t mention or introduce the surroundings at all during check-in. House keeping staff were courteous and hard working. Lobby staff was not friendly. Reception was spent most of the time reminding rules, rather than welcoming. Their lobby bar is a cigar bar and the reminded me they only have expensive whiskey and no wine by the glass. The staff from tea place with the stunning view of the city reminded me they are closing soon. The ground concierge was not welcoming nor helpful except for one girl who nodded every time we enter the building. The pool staff and lobby staff corrected my mandarin a few times. Lastly, the was an incident at the pool, as I heard a boy stepped on a piece of glass. There was a lot of blood. I cannot comprehend why there was a piece of glass not cleaned by the pool. There are two restaurants by the pool and one of them was a bar. Overall, it is a nice hotel. But the software is far from up to par or this price."

"The interior of the room is clean and the location is great. It will be my first choice hotel next time I travel to Kaohsiung. The reception staff had a good attitude and the lobby was clean and tidy. The parking management staff's guidance and service in guiding vehicles to park is excellent."

"Great experience overall—especially the spa, which was exceptional. However, the rooftop pool fell short of expectations for a 5-star resort. There’s no poolside service or even a place to grab water, a drink, or a light snack. Instead, you have to get dressed, walk to the restaurant, explain that you're coming from the pool and want a cocktail to go, wait a long time inside a dimly lit space, then head back out, get undressed again, and finally return to relaxing. It felt oddly inconvenient, especially compared to similar resorts throughout Asia. A bit of poolside hospitality would go a long way."

"Review for Grand Hotel Kaohsiung, Taiwan Our stay at Grand Hotel Kaohsiung was fantastic! We only stayed for one night, so we did not get a chance to try the food, but everything else was perfect. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-lit. The beds were super comfy, and the TV was big enough for a relaxing night in. The highlight was definitely our stunning lake view from the balcony—it was such a peaceful and beautiful sight. The automatic toilet seat was a nice touch, though the bidet function was a bit weak and lacked hot water. Also, it would have been nice to have complimentary water bottles in the room. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we would love to return for a longer visit!"

"Great hotel and friendly staff. The guy at the bar helped me buy flowers online for my friend since it was her birthday. They also gave her a bottle of wine for her birthday . We enjoyed our stay. They breakfast is good too Amazing cocktails at the bar too"

"Hotel is abit aged as you can tell from the interior design and furniture, however the hospitality is exceptional. In room dining is fine. I had my travel during typhoon day and the hotel is super flexible in arranging and extending my stay, will definitely visit again."

"My kids absolutely loved splashing around at the hotel. As for the game room, if no one is using it, perhaps the machines could be turned off? It seems like a bit of a waste of electricity. Our mountain-view room, which was on the very end, didn't have a clothesline. Room service promptly sent up a suit hanger, which served the purpose. Otherwise, everything was great!"
