LUNA - really made our 2+1 nights' stays special, Champion employee, making onward reservation and solving ccard stumble. We arrived St-Malo from Guernsey 27/10/21 w/out any ”Pass Sanitaire” due issuing system v v slow. LUNA welcomed and sorted dbl-vacc certs/passports and - after two tries at local small restaurants' rejects due no ”p-s” and no patience to check our alt docs, she supplied delicious shepherd's pie and lasagne conveniently avail on ibis soil - and du vin. The chausee beachside was being seriously road-worked due tidal damage, so we received advice abt alt pkg. LUNA's cheerfulness and service has made us determined to laud and applaud her, and tho we gathered there may be a corporate Accor/Ibis portal to credit super staff, this TripAdv seems to be the it, so we hope this reaches the levels of promotions, even more lady managers - top 44% - and generally supporting and encouraging fabulous, appropriate personlities ansd gluing fabulous staff. The bottom line, or rather top line, was, after several days to roam and visit friends, due her perfect work, we returned for a last night before a brutal early ferry departure, and there she was, gorgeous, smiling and cheerful, with an upgraded yummy king-bed-double room (has great, larger shower) and we found a Happy Birthday Card from the Team IBIS as well as a blow-up - wait for it - ibis logo cushion upon our bed - LUNA had discovered that my husb Pete's Birthday was that very day, and after a gentle week or so of celebrations around it, this was truly ”the candle-on-the-cake”, and LUNA, we cannot thank you enough for making our stays so special !! We would love so much that you rise thru the corp as they are extremely fortunate to have you !!! Blessings x

We recently stayed in Saint Malo for two nights as part of our trip through Normandy and Brittany. The hotel is well located to visit the old walled city, reasonably priced and is on a very quiet street. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff at the front desk very help. I would fully recommend this hotel for a stay in a beautiful part of the city.

I don't know where to start? So I'm going to do it chronologically. When I arrived, I had to make the queue, 20min to reach the counter. I booked via the website specifying the number of people, the dog, the breakfast option and the final household. Nothing was noted on my card. And when I announced the breakfast dej... I felt the malaise of the employees. I ask confirmation that he was well delivered to the house between 9h and 11h, but not, it changed. It was to us to go and find him between 9h and 10h. We have to predict what to carry him and above all the price!!!! For 1 pot of carrefour confection for the week with bread, growing, chocolate bread, milk (sub brand), orange juice (sub brand)... Next, the accommodation, how to say? The washing box was completely broken, impossible to keep the bases, 1 fire HS, mirror light HS bathroom, everything was in bad condition. Nothing was except the sofa that looked good. The outdoor furniture was broken. Home 6/8 loss with only 4 seats outside a table of 6 people... 6 glasses... Inconsistent with accommodation. Furthermore, no sailing to windows... it is possible to discuss with the neighbor's room without problems. The terraces? You need to love eating in community. Who eats what? Drink what? We know everything! It is very fine houses. I was awake with crying and noise. The last day I made a fat mat until 8:20!!! You'll have realized it... escape this Nemea if you keep to a minimum of comfort and intimacy. I've nevertheless had the chance to have a grass corner, the friends were in front of the pool and so they stayed home only to sleep!

We carefully killed the time until 3:00 check-in but our room was still not ready until almost 3:30. Our sea view was nice. The room was well- designed but tiny. Bathroom was also very well-designed and appointed. We’re naive Americans and had never seen the thing where you have to insert your hotel key to get any electricity in the room, had to figure that out on our own. We speak a bit of French, the hotel clerk insisted on English, but he did not understand that I wanted food but my husband didn’t, so we were served expensive food we did not want. And the bed “linens” felt like some kind of disposable plasticish weave. Not terrible, not great.

We very much liked this hotel but want to warn others not to book a terrace room at an extortionate extra cost. We thought we would treat ourselves to the suite with the terrace - this was a big mistake. The suite and the hotel were lovely and I would stay again. The position is excellent as the hotel is very central yet tucked just away from the main noise of the town. The room was lovely - air conditioned, clean, spacious and quiet. The breakfast was good and the evening meal in the restaurant also very nice. The problem was the awful terrace which we had paid extra for. Whilst it was a good size it had absolutely no view - just of the high walls of other buildings which were a few metres away! I think the bins or kitchen doors were at the bottom. We went to the desk to complain and were told that as it was after 4pm we couldn't change rooms - the staff were not very interested. I asked whether all the terrace rooms had this view and was told yes!!! All terrace rooms were at the back of the hotel - looking at walls. I was appalled that the hotel is charging so such extra for these terraces - they really are just smoking areas (a very plain table and chairs were provided with an ash tray). If you look at the picture on the website it implies a pretty, airy terrace. Whilst I didn't expect to see the sea from my terrace - I did think the view might be better than a close up of some plain walls. I am very upset that we paid so much for this and want to warn others not to be tempted to book one!
