It’s a good place for family retreat as it’s hidden away from the hustling city life in Shanghai. It’s almost like a resort which has acres of landscape gardens and beautiful mansion style accommodation and is exceedingly quiet too. I’m impressed with its well equipped sports center that has almost everything you could think of, from pool, gym to indoor and outdoor tennis courts which I believe are all open to the hotel guests. However, the breakfast was just ordinary with only limited choices. I really don’t like the seating arrangement in breakfast hall where the tables are so squashed up leaving literally no privacy for guests at all. But the lunch in our reserved room was absolutely scrumptious with excellent service provided by the staff on duty. Overall, we had a wonderful stay for our mum’s 88th birthday.

The service at the Xijiao State Hotel is very good. According to the number of people registered in the room and the number of days for staying , each person is given a free bowl of delicious hot soup wonton and a bottle of orange juice every day. On the first day of stay, there are also four different fruits without charge ,Superb! The breakfast at the hotel is varied and has many choices. Every dish in the restaurant is very tasty. Like the afternoon tea. The inner park of the hotel is very large and beautiful, and it is very refreshing and relaxing to take a walk there. The view from my room is very pleasant. In short, it is a very good experience staying at the hotel. Highly recommend to my friends.

The hotel is located in a very nice and private park of traditional Chinese garden scenery. Wandering in park puts you in a relaxed and peaceful mood. Professional and very friendly service.

The room is very comfortable, a bit modern and a bit retro. After checking in, there are welcome fruits and wontons. I like the breakfast at the Peony Pavilion on the second floor and the lunch at the water restaurant (at your own expense). I love the garden. In addition to the outer garden, I used the room card to visit the inner garden, the Lake Pavilion, the Xingyi Pavilion, the Peony Pavilion... The green in May is out of the camera. It's great! The service staff is kind and warm. The next day's garden activity went to the Yijing Garden. The modern creative architecture with a wooden structure is unique! Listening to the piano performance of professionals in the lobby at night, it's a charming enjoyment! The sauna, swimming pool and tennis court in the sports center are another highlight of the hotel! Although the hotel is large, the concierge department can contact the battery car for pick-up at any time, which is really convenient! If the city brings fatigue, this is a paradise in the city.
