Fairfield Inn Medford Long Island

Medford
I spent a few days there & had a generally good experience. There was good A/C during a stretch of hot days, so the room was comfortable, I slept well each night, so the bed must have agreed with me. There was plenty of hot water. I asked for extra blankets & got them or comforters. The TV & WiFi were both fine. There was plenty of parking and the motel was located very close off the LIE & was easy to find. There was plenty of shopping close-by as we made good use of a Sam's Club & a Target. There was one oddity - someone using the pool required a 2nd person along. Most of my lodging stays have always been as a solo traveler, so if I had wanted to use the pool, I'd have had to ask a stranger to accompany me. As it was, this time, was the tag-along. But I'm not a lifeguard, so I'm not sure what I could have done in the event of a real emergency. Good thing I was not needed to do more than just sit there. The breakfast was generally decent. I'd have ppreciated some cut fresh fruit such as cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries etc, but all I recall were ”hand fruits” - apples & bananas. Otherwise, I was satisfied. And I do appreciaate the staff as I asked a lot of directions questions, requested extra coverings, as well as leaving some items behind. After returning home without some things, I called about them. Long story short - most of my items were found & promptly mailed to my home gratis. There's a decent chance I will be making a similar trip in the future to visit in-laws further east, but prefer not to impose on them to stay there. This hotel is about 40 miles away & worked well. I encountered some traffic in each direction in ”the Hamptons”, but noting awful during the midweek. This hotel served our needs in every way & we'd stay there again.
