This is a really difficult one because the staff there were so lovely. Let’s start with the room.. it felt as though we were the first ones in there in a long time! The room smelled damp, it felt damp, there was no extraction in the bathroom meaning the shower steam had no where to go. We couldn’t leave a window open because of the monkeys! On leaving, our belongings felt damp!! We couldn’t sit outside because of the monkeys, as soon as you opened the door, they were there.. just waiting!! Don’t get me wrong, the wildlife was beautiful. We saw the monkeys, squirrels, beautiful birds a gecko (also one slept in the room with us) and the most gigantic water monitor!!!! But there was black mould everywhere. On the curtains, on the walls, on the ceiling! The food was really poor. Cold, unappetising and no where near enough. Desert was fruit and once it was gone, it was gone! Breakfast was really poor too. Now, we didn’t complain (and now I’m kicking myself) because this was our first hotel of the journey and we really didn’t know what to expect but I so wish I had complained! Again, the staff were lovely and this could be a fantastic hotel BUT money needs spending on it. We were glad to leave and would not visit again.
