XXiaoai1989My first desert camping experience, and I have to thank DUNE Sand Dunes Resort so much! Upon arrival, I was caught by a breathtaking sunset. It happened to be Chinese Valentine's Day, and the romance was practically overflowing from the screen.
Entering the room, I was even more astonished. The amenities were as luxurious as a star-rated hotel, completely reshaping my concept of ”camping.” That evening, I sat down with friends for a candlelight dinner. This was the first time I'd had such a satisfying meal in all my time in Xinjiang: homemade sirloin steak, crispy baked buns...all for only 80 yuan per person, and we devoured it until we had to lean on the wall.
Unable to sleep late into the night, my friends and I adjusted our camera angles, tested our equipment, and took endless photos of the starry sky. We had a blast.
The next morning, we woke up early to watch the sunrise, swinging on the swings until daybreak. The cool morning sand felt so comfortable. A little after 9:00, the host had already prepared a healthy and delicious breakfast, and we had another satisfying meal.
When it was time to leave, the host had already booked a car for us, and the host even attentively helped us load our luggage. As the final stop on my Xinjiang trip, this experience was absolutely perfect. Goodbye, Turpan; goodbye, Xinjiang. I will definitely, definitely come back.
SSeanPA68The Baoju hotel is located near the middle of town within a short driving distance to the Kumtag desert facilities. The staff were very friendly. Although they could not speak English, they made every good effort to meet all of our needs. The hotel is located in a ***** of small businesses and restaurants. It even is directly attached to a convenience store so you don’t need to leave the building for those small necessities. Our stay was pleasant and restful.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel reception upgraded me from a room with no window to one with a small window. The room was generally new, and the disposable toiletries were of acceptable quality. However, the room smelled of smoke, the hairdryer was a bit dirty, and the ventilation holes were blocked by lint 🙈. Also, it was incredibly noisy at night; a young man was making noise in the hallway until 2 AM, and I was woken up again in the morning by music from a nearby kindergarten. I'm fed up!
The reception staff were friendly, and the cleaning staff were polite. They offered free coffee refills, so overall it was pretty good. However, they need to increase patrols on the lower floors.
GGuest UserI had a truly wonderful stay! The room was even cleaner and more comfortable than I expected, and the bedding was so soft I slept so soundly. The host was incredibly nice, providing directions and recommending nearby attractions. Honestly, the host's cooking truly captivated me; Chongqing cuisine is so delicious even without the spice! It was quiet and peaceful at night. The kitchenette was perfect for making late-night snacks, and they even had a charging adapter. They really understand the needs of those traveling! I'll definitely stay here again next time, and if friends ask me where to stay, this place is always the first choice!
GGuest UserI am confused how they got so many good reviews after staying here. First, they said offer they tickets to get into Grape Valley and it ended up no tickets are needed. Second, we went out for dinner, restaurants on the right side of the hotel, as the hotel suggested, are 3X more expensive than the normal price. Third, a worker at our hotel offered to drive us to a restaurant but we declined. Later, we found out that he was trying to take us to an overpriced restaurant with no customers. I guess he was looking for a commission from that restaurant. Fourth, we asked one lady in the touristy area, how far is the night market and she said 25 km, we checked on line it was only 7 km away. Even though the room itself was fine, I would advise against staying here or in Grape Valley altogether. Although a visit here for 1 or 2 hours is fine.
GGuest UserVery unique B&B
First impression: wooden pavilion, blue bricks and tiles, antique style
Check-in experience: The little girl at the front desk was warm and thoughtful. I encountered a small problem when checking into the family room. After communicating with the store, she decisively changed the room and upgraded it for free. It was very heart-warming.
My favorite: I like the big terrace on the second floor. It is accompanied by stars at night and shaded by ancient trees during the day. It is so comfortable to drink tea with my family.
GGuest UserThe room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The shower pressure was excellent, and having laundry facilities was a huge bonus. Absolutely fantastic! I would definitely choose this hotel again if I get the chance.
GGuest UserThe room was clean. It is breathable, has hot water, and there is a large yard outside. You can also park your car under the greenhouse in the yard, which is clean and cool. The yard is spacious and clean. My son is very happy. He plays with kittens in the yard every day and basks in the sun with his naked butt. He really loves it. When we left, the child was reluctant to leave and said he didn't want to go home. The boss and his wife are warm and generous. There is hot tea and snacks in the yard 24 hours a day. The steamed buns and potato chips made by the boss's wife are amazing. My son eats them three times a day. When I left, the boss's wife gave me a big bag of potato chips and two boxes of black mulberries. I was really moved 😭😭😭 and moved to tears😫😫. The boss and the boss's wife warmly entertain every customer and chat with them 😄😄😄😄😄. You can order dishes at home. The big plate chicken made by the boss's wife is amazing. They raise their own chickens and they are handled very cleanly. Highly recommended. I plan to take my mother there for a few days in June. Thanks to the boss and the lady boss! ! ! !
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location, easy to find on the main road, with a parking lot, convenient parking. The room is spacious and has new facilities. The room is clean and sanitary. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and the sink meets hotel standards. The bedding is also very good, and the sleep is very comfortable. The hotel has a washing machine for washing clothes, and the cost performance is very high. I stayed there for a few days while playing in Turpan. The Xinjiang girl at the hotel front desk was warm and polite, and the check-in experience was very good!
GGuest UserWhat a little gem we found here. Cute hotel with cozy rooms in front of a huge tree, which gives it a very calm and energizing atmosphere. The hotel is situated a bit outside of the city center, right in the neighbourhood what felt like a little town itself (many restaurants, much green space, close to the grape valley) - we loved it!
Ps: they do accept foreigners!
