The room overlooked a small river with lush greenery all around, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The hotel's location is also super convenient; nothing felt far away!

The hotel is in central location, walking distance to the old part of town and surrounded by food options. All rooms face a busy intersection with traffic and commerce noise starting early in the morning until 10pm. Windows will block part of noise but not all. Gym is just a pair of treadmills, don't expect a workout space. Staff is very attentive and willing to help. Beds, pillows and sheets are comfortable and the shower is good. However, if you are not a smoker, I don't recommend staying here, nor in any other Ji hotel. I travel extensively and tried Ji hotels in several Chinese cities from North to South. They are consistent with service, cleanliness and bed comfort, but all of them have a major issue of not enforcing the non smoking rule, and besides that, their air conditioner system brings smokey air from different rooms directly into yours. It is a pity. Unfortunately, beautiful China is full of selfish smokers. We need better enforcement and at least air purifiers in each room.

The old house was incredibly well-preserved, and every decorative detail showcased the owner's thoughtful touches. The room itself was thoughtfully modernized to suit contemporary guests, and yes, it really, really, really had a smart toilet! 🚽 We had dinner at the guesthouse both nights, ordering from the owner. While the prices were a little higher than outside, the ingredients were exquisite, the preparation was refined, and the dining atmosphere was wonderfully atmospheric. The food itself was very satisfying. (I absolutely loved the tofu, which is apparently a local specialty). Also, when you're exploring the village, don't forget to say hello to the local dogs! 🐶 They're all very friendly, and we became good pals with them over our two-day stay.
