Sharin Kanazawa Traveler's Inn - Hostel

This was a wonderful hostel to stay at, and really made me enjoy my stay in Kanazawa. It's right in the middle, beyween the garden, the samurai district and the chaya district, so it was perfect for getting around, and very close to the train station. The people working here are super sweet and they even have some plum wine in the evenings for guests. The staff mainly stays in their sister hostel, however the hostel itself is very secure and the door is always locked. It's always nice for a quick rest as well between wandering, and there's a delicious ramen restaurant a minute walk away.

Had a splendid stay. Although there was no parking, they suggested a nearby parking lot. Making it easy for us to take a 10 m walk to the station with plenty of food. Was provided with very clear instructions on how to check in. The rooms were very clean with nice furnishing. Tatami beds were very comfortable. Maybe the only con is there are no elevators. So, if u have heavy luggages, bear in mind but they was a staff at the premise during our check in. He offered to help carry our luggages.

Always been a big fan of the Dormy Inn chain, guaranteed a nice onsen and delicious supper and breakfast. Checking in and out is a breeze. This hotel is located steps away from the JR station as well as bus terminal, very easy to hop on a bus to tour the city. Highly recommended.

Perfect accommodation!! I arrived and the staff explain it clearly, and very helpfull. The pod is nice, for me it's quite spacious. If you have a big luggage they have some section to put it in the share room. Shower room and spa located in the B1F, I did the spa, and it's only me, maybe that was awesome quite time. The welcome drink really nice, lounge room is comfortable and accommodating for eating, drinking and working as well. And for women, they provide hair straightener, I cannot use mine because the voltage issue.

This hotel is clearly showing its age and may not meet expectations for those looking for a more modern or well-maintained stay. While it carries the IHG branding, the overall experience feels dated. One of the main challenges was communication. The front desk staff had very limited English proficiency, making it difficult to get clear directions—especially regarding parking. Guests are required to go to the front desk to ask about parking arrangements, which is not very convenient. The signage outside is also misleading, and it’s easy to mistakenly park at a nearby open-air lot that charges ¥100 per 15 minutes or ¥1000 for 12 hours. The hotel’s designated parking is actually located in a shopping mall, which is not immediately obvious. The rooms themselves are quite old, with worn facilities. The bathroom had a noticeable musty smell, suggesting poor ventilation or maintenance. Amenities were basic—Dove toiletries were provided instead of the more commonly seen Pola brand in Japanese hotels. The air conditioning was also ineffective, which made the stay less comfortable. That said, the hotel does have one strong advantage: location. It is directly opposite Ōmichō Market, making it very convenient for exploring the market and enjoying a great local breakfast. Overall, this hotel may be suitable for travelers who prioritize location over comfort, but those expecting a smoother and more modern stay might want to consider other options.

KOKO HOTEL Kanazawa Station(formerly Hotel Wing International Premium Kanazawa Ekimae)

This place is just a 5-6 minute walk to Kanazawa jr station and the bus terminal. The location is fantastic. There is all the amenities you need like coin laundry, and ice machine. The staff are wonderful and helped me to correctly fill out the forms to mail a package to my teacher staying in japan. This is my second stay with the hotel franchise in kanazawa- i stayed in their other hotel more in the town centre previously. They both smelled amazing. I don’t know what they use, but they have a specific scent that they make for their hotels. Apparently Kanazawa also has a tradition of incense and so they’ve incorporated a signature scent based on it. I wish I could buy it tbh- so Koko staff- if you see this, please make it an item you sell! The rooms are a good size, for Japan, and the bathtub in the room is MASSIVE. Sadly I dont have photos as I forgot to take them. They have a lovely outdoor on the top floor as well, where you can sip a drink and enjoy the view which i do have photos of.

This is the largest room type I stayed in during this Spring Festival trip. It is actually better than the pictures on the platform. The kitchen facilities are fully equipped, including refrigerator, microwave, stove, pot, tableware, cups and dishes, and kitchen paper, which are convenient for cooking. There is a separate toilet room, a dry area basin and washing machine outside the bathroom, and a clothesline. The room is not big with two beds, but it is very large with two connected tatami areas. It is very suitable for family or staying for a few days. There are only three floors in the building, and it feels like there are only six or seven rooms on each floor. There is a cafe for breakfast less than a minute on the left hand side of the downstairs, and you can send postcards at the post office! ! ! The only two points to note are: 1. Check-in is not here, you have to go to a big hotel near JR Kanazawa Station to check in. We didn't pay attention to the hotel's email notifications, and we couldn't get in when we arrived at the check-in place without the password. No one answered the hotel phone number we left, and it was only thanks to Ctrip's customer service who responded to our communication promptly that we were able to resolve the issue. I would like to commend Ctrip's customer service! 2. Take off your shoes when entering the room. Even with the air conditioner on during the Spring Festival, your feet will still feel very cold. It will be much more comfortable in other seasons. It may also be due to different physical conditions.

Another unforgettable hot spring trip! This time I booked the Bailezhuang Hotel in Tangyong Hot Spring Village in the mountains near Jinyu in advance. One berth and two meals are the classic Japanese hot spring hotel gameplay. The so-called two meals are the dinner on the night of stay and the breakfast on the next day. From the soup opposite Bailezhuang, I changed from the hotel. It snowed heavily that day, and there was a little more meaning in the snow. The hotel welcoming brother saw the guests coming close, and he quickly ran out to welcome the guests with an umbrella, leaving a good first impression. After entering the seat, kneel and present welcome drinks and desserts, very thoughtful. At the same time, the extra seafood for dinner - local crabs, should be recommended in the season, so it cost an extra 50,000 yen to take it down. (This should not be a must, regular dinner is included in the room rate) The room has a private soup (the size of a bathtub), which is said to be semi-open-air in fact indoors. The snow scene gives the room a big bonus, and the window is as pure and white as a painting. Compared with other hot spring hotels, this public soup is small and located on the second floor. There are two small pools for men and women, one indoor and one outdoor, which is slightly stingy. But fortunately, the number of hotel rooms is small and there are not many guests crowded. The hotel is also equipped with a recreation room, with billiards, table tennis and moths. The equipment is not bad, it is very good in the package.

The counter staff is kind and patient. The place to eat on the first floor is not very good. It may be necessary to prepare for early dining. There is a lunch box for the tenant to take out and breakfast is appetizing. The bathroom is small but acceptable. If you can install a handrail next to the bathtub, it will be safer for older people.

Close to the jr station and close to a supermarket at the station … most of the tourists attractions you either need to hike or use public transports
