Hotel des Balances is a beautiful blend of history and modern comfort, right in the heart of Lucerne’s Old Town. The location is unbeatable — you can walk to the Chapel Bridge, Jesuit Church, and plenty of shops and restaurants within minutes. My room was stylish and very clean, with a wonderful view over the river. The historic facade and murals give the hotel real charm, while the interiors feel elegant and well cared for. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely helpful — from check-in to recommendations around the city Overall, a fantastic hotel if you want charm, comfort, and a prime location in Lucerne. Highly recommended, especially if you can book a river-view room!

The hotel room and services were decent, but what really stood out was its location. As someone who relies on public transport, it was incredibly convenient. The hotel entrance is only about 100 meters from Platform 3 at the train station. When I traveled from Lucerne to Basel, I caught a train from Platform 3, and it was a breeze getting my 28-inch suitcase on board. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Lucerne.

A few minutes walk from Lake Lucerne. The apartment is a two-story loft. One bed downstairs. Two beds upstairs. The bed is opposite the skylight. The apartment facilities are perfect. You can cook your own meals and have a small terrace. The small wine room is a simple color of wood and white. Overall the house is very satisfied, but there is a little dissatisfaction because the room was already set up without giving the apartment building password and room password in advance. I ca n’t go downstairs to hit the owner. The phone didn't work, and I was trapped downstairs twice before and after waiting for a resident in the building to open the door before we could get in. The service was not very good.

Service: Super good. Since it is a long way down the stairs, there is a bell to inform customers to ring the bell and the hotel staff will help carry the luggage and send customers to the room to guide them to check in! Very kind people willing to help you out with recommendations. The room is really clean and there’s enough space to have a comfortable stay! It’s pretty close to the station and with the free public transport you can easily ready the station too.
