This guesthouse, perched on a hill, seems to be quite popular with influencers, featuring many Instagrammable photo spots. Both the rooms and the restaurant boast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, with the rooms directly facing the Rainbow Lighthouse. The restaurant's view is also fantastic; having breakfast with that sea view in the morning is incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather on our first day was terrible, with strong winds and heavy rain, which completely dampened my enthusiasm for taking photos. I imagine it would be amazing to visit in the summer! The in-room amenities were a bit lacking; perhaps to maintain a stylish look, there weren't many power outlets. However, the service attitude was absolutely superb—they were always ready to help. They even gave plenty of advice to us fishing novices who were enthusiastic but unskilled. I must also mention the free pick-up and drop-off service, which saved us a good amount of money, considering that taxi fares on Shengshan and Gouqi Islands can be quite expensive. The recommended driver was also very nice. I'd definitely come back in the summer just for this level of service!

I booked this homestay on Ctrip, and the overall feeling is really good. The room is clean and comfortable, and the toiletries are no less than those of a five-star hotel. The environment looks inconspicuous from the outside, but it is quite warm inside. The boss gives people a very kind feeling and helps introduce places to visit around. The meals cooked by the boss's mother are fresh and delicious, and worth recommending.

I visited Gouqi Shengshan and Sijiao Island many years ago. The natural scenery is beautiful, but the accommodation conditions are average. This time I was pleasantly surprised to find a good resort hotel. After arriving on the island, the design of the hotel is consistent with the photos. It is modern and simple, with a Santorini style. It was a very comfortable stay and the restaurant in the hotel tasted good, so I could enjoy a leisurely vacation without leaving home, watching the sea and eating seafood in the hotel. Will stay here next time.

Every year during the off-season, I spend a few days in Putuo, and I've stayed at several hotels on the island. Xilai Zhizhu Hangshe is definitely one of the best. The location is excellent, the facilities are great, the hygiene is satisfactory, and the service is also very good. Besides the high room rate, there's hardly anything to fault. Especially the Yuanzhi Yuanwei restaurant downstairs – it was a pleasant surprise! I used to avoid 'influencer' spots, but after eating there twice, I was very impressed. No pre-made dishes, fresh ingredients, good flavor, and great value for money. I'll definitely be staying here again every year.

If you want to drive with your dog and want a sea view, this is the first choice Shengsi is not big, so it only takes 20 minutes to drive to the pier, and 10 minutes to various scenic spots (Jihu Lake, Donghai Five Fishing Village... and 25 minutes to Qicai Reef to watch the sunset) The hotel also has a restaurant with meals, but it is also very convenient to drive to the county town to eat seafood or to the Donghai Five Fish Village Seafood Street. The hotel has a private beach (with a lot of sand and rocks), and there is also a beach on the Left Bank Road a short walk away. There are very few people there, so you can rent the entire beach for yourself. It is very convenient to bring your dog to play on the beach. The hotel itself is on the Left Bank Road, built on a cliff, so you can watch the sunrise directly from your room. The sanitation service is very good. You can consult the housekeeper for any questions. It happened to be my birthday. The room was decorated with some atmosphere. Although the breakfast was not a buffet, it was very rich. They also made coffee for me, which was very comfortable. This time we happened to encounter a force 10 gale and were unable to return on schedule. The housekeeper was very considerate and told us how to book the next ferry ticket and even brought some dog food for the dog. The only drawback may be that there are too many steps. We originally booked Building 4, which has an elevator in the lobby. Because of the water pipe problem in Building 4, we upgraded to Building 6 before moving in. Although Building 6 has the highest view and the best view, it is indeed the farthest building and has too many steps, which is not very friendly to the elderly. My dog ​​originally had a ligament injury and it was a bit difficult to go up and down the stairs with my arms held the whole time. It is more suitable for young people to stay in. The view is also very good as it is a single-family building and quiet.

The room's location is excellent, right next to Puji Temple. Since we arrived on the island at 8 PM, I asked the lobby manager, Wang Yang, to help us book a morning class, which fulfilled my mom's wish to attend one. The room facilities are very new, the shower has good water pressure, and the hairdryer is a lightweight Laifen. The hotel staff also helps with luggage when getting in and out of the car, which is incredibly convenient for families traveling with elderly people and children. When we left, Manager Wang Yang even gave us some small safety charms as a gift. All in all, it's the perfect choice for a trip to Putuoshan.

Service by the guy who picked us up from the airport is excellent. 10/10!!! Our luggage was damaged during the flight, he called someone to help us repair it. We were short on time for the ferry sailing to Mt Putuo due the weather conditions, that day sailings will be cancelled, (we got to chat in the van when he picked us up from the airport), he said we can just leave the luggages at the front desk and then hurriedly sent us to the port, good thing we made it. That's superb customer service!!! He didn't even want to get a tip, eventually we gave him some dried mango packs from the Philippines. The front desk guy though is a different story, he was super slow, did not know how to handle checking in of foreign passport holders I think. He has our passports and had to ask us our birthdays!! It was also difficult for him to understand the visa dates (expiry and issue dates), and he kept on asking when we arrived, it is just there stamped opposite the visa page, we just actually arrived that day, this is our first hotel. Anyway, free pick up from the airport is best and free sending to the port and then lastly also to the bus station. Great service.

There are comments about various problems with environmental sanitation services. As for my personal stay this time: When checking in, the front desk receptionist spoke softly and gently, and was very polite throughout the whole process. After checking in, another handsome guy showed the way and introduced the unmanned supermarket next to it, which was convenient for self-service purchase of snacks and drinks. Room hygiene: Very clean and tidy. The items were also neatly organized. There was a very retro letter on the desk. I forgot the room card in the room and just told the front desk and left. I received the refunded deposit in one minute. I was very satisfied with this stay and will choose Xin Huaqiao next time.

Our family room was spacious and bright, offering views of the pier. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, featuring a bathtub and a bathroom with a separate wet and dry area, plus complete shower facilities. Breakfast was quite generous, and there's a restaurant on-site where we enjoyed a delicious dinner. We even received complimentary welcome fruit. The hotel also provides its own free parking, both underground and above ground, which is perfect for those traveling by car. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and professional.
