Rayong City Hotels with Pools

First and foremost, I'd like to thank Sonya at the front desk. Despite the language barrier, she was incredibly helpful and patient in contacting the bus company to help me locate my bag, which I'd left on the bus (even though the bus company ultimately said they couldn't find it, Sonya never showed the slightest bit of impatience). Secondly, the hotel's breakfast, cleanliness, and service were all excellent. It's also very close to both the beach and the main street. I would definitely choose to stay here again on future visits.

The hotel's overall environment is great, perfect for a vacation, and the room privacy is excellent, very comfortable. The drinks at the restaurant are also delicious, and you can see many giant clams and fish on the beach right outside. The only downside is that the chlorine in the swimming pool is too strong! My child's body, inner thighs, and neck all broke out in rashes. My child swims frequently, and we've never encountered this at previous hotels. Even my friend developed scattered red rashes after swimming for just half an hour.

Pros: The hotel features an all-wood design, and the ocean-view rooms offer a truly pleasant experience with stunning sea views and the sound of the waves. I'd expected the bedding in the room to be damp, but to my surprise, it was dry and fluffy. The hotel restaurant: The dining environment is spacious and comfortable, with a pergola and tatami seating right on the beach. The chef's culinary skills are excellent, with both presentation and taste being perfect. Both hotel and restaurant staff are incredibly polite and friendly. Right next to the hotel is their company's pier for guest transfers. The hotel provides free shuttle service, boat rides, and luggage handling, making island access and departure very convenient, hassle-free, and effortless. Cons: The hotel offers paid laundry service, but there's no self-service laundromat. The nearest 24-hour self-service laundromat on the island is a bit far.

The taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people. However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned. Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day. One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police. Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

We traveled with a rather complex group: my mother plus two children (ages 9 and 14). During our stay, we were very impressed with the high quality of service: we were met at the pier with sun umbrellas, and the housekeeping was excellent. The room was in good condition, everything was clean, and there wasn't much wear and tear. We handled meals this way: we had dinner at the restaurants (there are 3, one for each hotel), and both times it cost us around 1500 Baht for all three of us, which was comparable to what we spent in Pattaya, where we also saw a show (on Fridays). If you don't have kids, you can rent a scooter and go to the other side of the island where there's a huge selection of places to eat. For lunch, we had fruits, yogurts, salads, snacks, etc., which we bought once at 7-Eleven on the other side of the island; the round trip cost 400 Baht. Compared to Pattaya, the sea here is incredibly clean and clear – true relaxation. I was worried the journey would be difficult, but we traveled in the middle of the day when you can't do much anyway due to the heat. It was 1.5 hours from Pattaya, 2 hours to Bangkok, and then a quick 10-15 minute boat ride. The hotel has its own pier, which is cool, clean, and offers inexpensive drinks. For those who are panically afraid of lizards, snakes, and other critters, it might be best not to go to this island, as they can crawl into the room. And mosquitoes (!) – there's a fumigator and repellents in the room, but I still got bitten (though I always do; for example, the children weren't bitten). In all other respects, it was a magnificent trip, and the boat ride to the island was an attraction in itself. I plan to repeat this experience and stay for 4-5 days next time.

This hotel has very clear pros and cons. 1. We booked a beach house, so as soon as we opened the door, we had direct access to the beach and the sea, which was super convenient for playing. 2. Although it's not a rocky beach, it's a resort cluster, so the people there are mostly staying nearby. This means it's not too crowded, offering more privacy, and there are a lot of European and American tourists. 3. The downsides are quite critical though. Our room was close to the beach and made of wood, so there were a lot of ants. Even with bug spray, it was no use, and we got bitten many times. 4. The location is also a major drawback; it's really far from the pier, and we couldn't rent a motorbike, making it very inconvenient to go out. We had to rely on the shops along the beach for anything we wanted to buy. It's not ideal if you want to explore the island.

We loved everything! The grounds aren't huge, but they're green and there's a pool. Breakfasts are tasty and varied: every day there's toast, scrambled eggs, coffee, omelets made to order, several kinds of fruit, and hot dishes that change daily. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The bungalows are a bit old and small inside, but they have everything you need. There was an issue with the air conditioning, which was fixed very quickly. The only thing is the shower water was only lukewarm (or maybe we couldn't figure out how to adjust it). The Wi-Fi was decent, flying in the morning but slower in the evening. And the main thing is that the hotel is located on a stunning beach. It's peaceful here, but not boring, with cafes, a small shop, and fire shows. The hotel provides sun loungers. The taxi stand is behind the hotel, so getting around is easy, or you can walk and explore different beaches. If we go to Samet again, we'll choose this hotel again, partly because of the beach.

The accommodation was quiet and had a great atmosphere. All the staff were lovely. When there was an issue with the room, they immediately changed it for us. Very impressed! 🥰

The staff at the front desk were lovely. They spoke politely, gave good recommendations, and were always smiling. The kitchen staff were also very kind and provided excellent service. The hotel has comprehensive facilities, is easy to get to, close to everything, and safe. The hotel also offers motorcycle rentals, which I recommend arranging directly with them for convenience. I was very impressed! 💗✨🙏🏻

This hotel isn't bad, it's stylishly designed, and the room is clean and tidy. The only downside is that there's no real beach directly attached to the hotel, and the access is from the sea side. There are no sun loungers, just tables on the sand. When it's high tide, the water comes right up to the hotel entrance, and when it's low tide in the evenings, it recedes about 200 meters, creating space for a walk. Breakfast is mediocre, and the service is too; everyone is a bit slow, but that's okay, it works for a couple of days' stay.
