"I had a wonderful stay at Midtown Richardson Taipei. The location is convenient and literally right next to Ximen MRT Station, surrounded by shops, cafés, and the vibrant Ximending nightlife. The room was clean, well maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was soft yet supportive. The service team was friendly and efficient and housekeeping was prompt and meticulous. Excellent value, great comfort, and a prime location for anyone visiting Taipei"

"7.5/10 We stayed in this hotel many times, actually. - i feel a but disappointed that a smaller room was assigned but at least the front desk didn’t give me the room that I asked to avoid. -the housekeeping didn’t clean the room the second day so the next day I had to inform the staff in the lobby to make sure that the housekeeping would come to clean the room - No bottle or a jar (for refill the water) provided in the room as they don’t provided bottles of water any more so the guests have to refill the water from the machine, located on every floor instead. The first night, I have to buy a big bottle of water from 7-11 so we have a bottle to refill more water The front desk this time were quite nice this time , compared to the team that we met along 5 years (2017-2020 and 2023)"

"The hotel generously upgraded our rooms from twin single beds to twin double bed. The location is absolutely fantastic and strategic as it is located just across major transportation nodes for HSR, Local Train and Metro. The rooms may look a bit dated but if aesthetic isnt a major concern, all else considered, it was a convenient and pleasant stay."

"Overall, it is a good hotel for staying Taipei. Good location (just 3-5 mins by walking distance from 板橋站). Staff in hotel are friendly. The swimming pool is not big enough for you to swim as the period I used the pool was in the morning (10am). Many family members were using the pool and played with the kids in the pool. If you need a pool for training or doing exercise, it may not be a good option as it is a fun pool more than a swimming pool. The soundproofing was poor in my room. I could hear all the conversations in the next room. It was okay for me as my neighbours slept so early and they were not too loud to talk. (Thanks for my neighbours) However, please consider it if you are the person that affected by sound easily at night."

"It took me a while to leave a review but this is, by far, one of my favourite hotels! Facilities: 10/10 - The gym is an external one that's connected to the building, and it's a full, proper gym. The room is amazing with abilities to surf YouTube as well. Location: 10/10 - It's right across the Taipei Arena, and near several bus stations and MRT so it's easy to get around. If you're looking to get the famous ChiaTe or LeeChi pineapple cakes, it's literally a few bus stops away. I'm so sorry this is overdue, but thank you for also preparing a cake and card for my birthday! I was out the entire day and it seems like they tried to send it up to my room a few times, so they left a card to get me to call them. Before I knew it, when I came back st almost 11pm, a staff came up to my door with the handwritten card and cake! Thank you!!"

"I had a great stay at Papa Whale Hotel in Ximending, Taipei! Before my trip, I emailed them with a few questions, and the staff responded promptly every time. When I arrived a bit early before check-in, I could comfortably wait in the lobby, which was really nice and cozy. The staff were super helpful and spoke English very well. The hotel’s location is fantastic—right in Ximending, close to the night market and within walking distance to convenience stores, the MRT, and lots of great spots. It’s a popular place for tourists, so it tends to be fully booked often. I also opted for the breakfast buffet, which was really convenient. They had a good variety of dishes, including some nice shabu and other options, so I didn’t have to go out hunting for food in the morning—definitely worth it. The price overall was quite reasonable and good value for what you get. As for the room, I chose a basement room, which was actually quiet and cozy. The bed was comfortable, and I slept very well. The bathroom was nice, and the lighting was good. The housekeeping staff cleaned the room every day and always asked for permission politely if I was still inside—really considerate. While the room wasn’t super large, it was modern and clean. If I needed anything extra, the staff were always happy to help. It’s a short walk to the main Ximending walking street, and once you get used to it, it’s really convenient. Plus, there are lots of nice spots for photos if you like taking pictures. Overall, I slept really well and had a great experience. I’d definitely stay at Papa Whale again if I have the chance! 🩵"

What truly stood out was the friendly and helpful staff, who made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
