Tianjin Hengmei Express Hotel

I honestly don't even know where to start with this hotel. When we first entered the building, the first thing we noticed was the elevator. It was very old, and some of the buttons were not working properly. We went up to the 5th floor, and the corridor was even worse. There was rubbish and all kinds of unnecessary things lying around. The ceiling also looked really unsafe, like it could break and fall down at any time. At that point, we already had a bad feeling about the place. We arrived around 10 PM, but we couldn't check in at that time. The property manager told us that we had to pay ¥50 for every hour until 2 PM if we wanted to check in early. The room itself was only around ¥100 for one day, so paying another ¥50 per hour honestly felt crazy. So we decided to wait and finally checked in after 1 PM. And then we saw the room. The room was dirty, everything looked extremely old, and there was a bad smell everywhere. The bedsheet and blanket looked like they had been used for years. Nothing really felt clean or fresh. The bathroom was even worse. It was very dirty, the toilet had really bad yellow stains, and the bathroom door couldn't even be locked. But the thing that actually scared me was the window. The window was basically being held in place with a piece of cardboard. I'm not exaggerating. It looked like if someone accidentally pushed it hard enough, they could fall out of the building. And the window was almost at the same height as the bed. So when I went to sleep, I was genuinely scared. I kept thinking about the window and tried to be very careful around it. And unfortunately, that wasn't the only problem. The AC remote wasn't working. The refrigerator was dirty and smelled really bad. The room door lock wasn't working properly either. At midnight, I literally spent around 5 minutes just trying to unlock the door. Basically, everywhere I looked, there was something old, dirty, broken, or poorly maintained. There was one thing I do appreciate, though. After we checked out, we left our luggage downstairs for a while. Somehow, someone informed the police, and the police took our luggage. The lady manager of the hotel actually helped me get my luggage back from the police. I'm genuinely thankful to her for helping with that. But honestly, apart from that, the whole experience was horrible. I've stayed in cheap hotels before, and I don't expect luxury when I'm paying around ¥100. But basic cleanliness and safety should still be there. A broken-looking window, a door that doesn't lock properly, a dirty bathroom, a smelly refrigerator, and an unsafe-looking building are not things I can just ignore. I would honestly never stay here again. Even if someone offered me a free room and ¥100, I would still choose somewhere else.

The management lady was so rude and also we were not in an option of cancel it as we reached late at that place. Place was so dirty and smelly and also it’s not a hotel. It’s a flat with smell like died dog. Never suggest even an animal to go there. All pictures shown are fake. Be careful to those who are planning to stay there in future.
