"The hotel's location is pretty good, close to the Haihe River and the Five Avenues. We checked in around 10 PM. After showering, it was almost midnight, and I was still sweating from the heat. I checked the air conditioning, and it sounded like a tractor and was incredibly dirty. It was just blowing natural air at 26 degrees Celsius, less cool than the hallway. I contacted the front desk to switch rooms. The front desk service was okay, but the staff who came to help kept saying that we hadn't had the AC on long enough and that all AC units in Tianjin were the same and only blew cool air. 😓 We switched rooms, and the AC there worked fine; the temperature quickly dropped to 24 degrees with the door closed. However, the sink in the new room was clogged and drained very slowly. By the time we finished all this, it was almost 1 AM. Overall, for Tianjin, it's a decent value for the price, but it's a far cry from a five-star hotel."

"This hotel is super convenient, located just a 7-minute walk diagonally left from the Tianjin South Railway Station exit. The subway station is also right there, making getting around a breeze. The hotel entrance is quite grand, and check-in is fully automated, though there's staff on hand to assist if needed. Plus, there's a McDonald's right next to the hotel entrance. They even offer a 30 RMB Chinese lunch per person, and breakfast is available too, which is a nice touch."

"This hotel is right across from the Northwest Corner morning market, making it super convenient to grab breakfast – just walk across the street. The room was incredibly spacious, which the kids loved. Manager Feng from housekeeping was very responsible and even helped me upgrade my room type. After returning home from Tianjin, my daughter couldn't find her small doll and was really upset. I contacted Manager Feng, and she immediately helped me find it. It was such a tiny, inconspicuous doll, but the fact that they had kept it safe for so many days really touched me. Thank you on behalf of my child! We'll definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Tianjin."

"I've always wanted to visit a Banyan Tree hotel, and I heard their essential oils were exceptional – they certainly didn't disappoint. However, the service left a bit to be desired. We stayed for two nights, and at check-in, we were promised two complimentary children's breakfasts. But we only received one. The next day, our child went for breakfast alone and was denied entry at the door until we paid for the meal. Couldn't they have contacted an adult about this? It was very awkward for the child. Also, when we ordered room service one evening, we asked for a medium-rare steak, but what arrived was more like a beef patty. Since it was late and room service, we didn't make a fuss, but we barely ate the meat, and it felt like a waste of money. Overall, this Banyan Tree trip wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped."

"The hotel is very well located with MRT station just opposite the hotel. The room is clean, well equipped and comfortable to stay. The hotel has no restaurant or cafeteria to provide lunch, tea time or dinner for the guest. Fortunately, there is a pedestrian walk just next to the hotel that provides all kind of food. For the money I paid during my stay I would strongly recommend this hotel."

"I stayed here once ten years ago and had a great impression; at least everything worked, and I felt I got my money's worth. Ten years later, I'm back, and Tangla Hotel makes me feel like my money was completely wasted. 1. The towels smelled fine when dry, but as soon as they got wet, they had a strange odor. 2. The electric curtains were off their hooks and had to be pulled manually. 3. The remote for the bathtub TV didn't work. 4. The extra blanket provided was a mattress pad plus a white sheet, and the mattress pad kept slipping out while I was sleeping. 5. The gym equipment was extremely basic; there weren't even any dumbbells. If the price were around 500, I'd say it was acceptable, but charging 900 on a weekend is just ridiculous. What really infuriated me was this: I usually don't like to leave bad reviews, but I had my child with me and wanted to extend my checkout time to 2 PM. I was told it wasn't possible because the room needed to be cleaned. Only after I informed them about the issues with the room's facilities did they say I could have a late checkout. So, are you being sincere or not? Furthermore, the male front desk staff member with glasses who was on duty on August 30th sneered when we mentioned there was a clump of hair in the room, which left us speechless. How can you work at the front desk without basic courtesy and manners??"

"The room was a bit compact, but the bedding was comfortable and the windows were sparkling clean. The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the high-speed train station. The breakfast spread was quite generous, though the dishes were a bit on the salty side; some lighter vegetable options would be nice. For the noodle station, there are seasonings available, so no need to add extra salt. The washing machine is located in a different hotel, requiring a walk through the dining area, which is a minor inconvenience. The environment and hygiene were very well maintained. Cathy Xu was genuinely warm and attentive, and the check-in process was efficient and swift. The room facilities were complete and functioned well. I would choose to stay here again for my next trip."

This time, however, I felt that some of the hardware facilities are showing their age, and the hotel should really consider upgrading certain amenities, like smart toilets. The service, though, remains top-notch. For breakfast, I think they should offer more anti-inflammatory salads; there are just too many carbs."
