Hotels Near Dorotheum in Vienna

My two teenage children and I stayed in the Family Room for 3 nights in June 2022. The location of the hotel is unbeatable - right in the heart of the city and shopping area. A stone's throw away from a metro stop and the St. Stephen's cathedral. There are a lot of restaurants nearby to dine at, The State Opera House is a 4-min walk. The staff of the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. Our luggage didn't make the connection in Amsterdam and hotel staff went out of they way to call airlines. If you want to get to the hotel from the airport, take the CAT (City Airport Train) for 12 euros (kids under 15 ride for free) and get off at the first city stop (Landstrabe/ Wien Mitte). Then take the U3 subway line (buy separate ticket for 2,40 euros) and get off two stops at Stephanplatz. It's about a 25 min ride.

The hotel is located in the center of Vienna's old city, similar to Wangfujing in Beijing and Nanjing Road in Shanghai. Get off at Vienna Central Station and transfer to U1 for two stops. It takes 3-5 minutes to get there from the exit of the Opera House. The hotel is 5 minutes' walk from the Cathedral, 3 minutes' walk from the Albertina Museum, 7 minutes' walk from the Golden Hall, 18 minutes' walk from the Belvedere Palace, 10 minutes' walk from the Anchor Bell, 8 minutes' walk from the Austrian Library, 10 minutes' walk from the Vienna Museum of Art History, and 8 minutes' walk from Mozart Memorial Park. In short, you can walk to all the places you want to go in the old city. I think the royal family didn't want to travel too much when they traveled. There are too many restaurants, supermarkets, snacks, and cafes around, so I didn't experience breakfast and can't comment. Capsule coffee and tea bags are updated daily. I like plum-flavored fruit tea bags the most. Minibar is charged. Please report the amount and variety when checking out. There is no small sofa with a backrest in the room I stayed in, so it was a bit awkward to watch TV, drink tea and eat snacks. I sat on the stool without any support, but I didn't stay in the room much after all.

Hotel is clean. Good and friendly service from reception. Nice hotel lobby with nice decorations. Manage to do a early check in (1plus pm instead of 3pm) after stating in booking request. Location Central Enough but still a 17-18min walk to Luxury Boutique (Chanel/Dior) Parking garage nearby (3min walk) for 24euro/day (get card from hotel) usually price $40euro Paid $10 extra a night for a room with Windows (they highlighted if never pay and upgrade, we will have rooms with windows that can’t be opened) - not complaining but seems like a usual sales Tactic Loved that the hotel got a mini shop/bar at reception that has many simple food and drink items. Not much in room amenities. No slippers or bath ropes or toothbrush etc. Only a simple hand wash and a all-in-one shampoo and body wash in toilet. No bottled water provided. Free wifi, no password required. Will recommend to stay.

This hotel is a paradise before and after long days of touring the city. Centrally located right next to the subway stop, I could access everything easily, even if it was snowing. The front desk staff were so professional and secured me an extra night when my flight plan changed and upgraded me to a beautiful, QUIET corner room #304. The breakfast buffet is a veritable smorgasbord of choices: eggs, weiners, cheeses, meats, yoghurts and fruits, coffee cakes and breads. The best part of the breakfast is the staff: Jamil from Tunisia is extremely helpful and attentive. Melin from the Phillipines was a superb fountain of knowledge about the city and special events and happenings. I will be sure to come back on my next trip to this magic city!

Olde world look with modern amenities. Good price for the location & quality amenities - easy walk to Rennweg station (for the airport) & Belvedere palace & tram just down the street to get into the old town & Rathouse. Good location for getting to all the Christmas markets (get a 24 hr transport pass from the train station). Only issue was that the room was super hot. They sent someone to look at it & it was better the second night but could have been cooler.

We stayed in January 2020 for 3 nights in this hotel, very conveniently located nearby subway station, which makes it perfect to enjoy the city without paying extra money. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and big enough. The hotel's bar is cozy and the restaurant has a good choice of meals and amazing staff. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Where to start , well let's start at Check In, we have arrived at the Hotel around mid day which we were lucky to be provided with a room straight away, after taking our way into the room well.. The carpets are horrendously dirty to the point i had a walk around Vienna looking for flip flops just not to step bare feet on the carpet. At this point we have contacted the reception in hopes of getting an upgrade which we were willing to pay but got immediately shut down as they were at full capacity, the shower room was fine big walk in shower fairly modern and clean, big TV although do not be fooled it is not a smart TV if you phone does not have Screen Cast do not forget HDMI cable or you will be stuck watching German TV. The restaurant was only open for Breakfast they do not open for Dinner only upon request and availability, now this was a first for me.. Nevertheless we prefer to eat out always and Vienna has some Fabulous places where you can have a nice Dinner. Be careful as well when you wake up a bit later and have to come down to reception to ask for Housekeeping to come and tend your room as they will leave your room door wide open whilst you are parading around Vienna, this actually happened to us we requested them to go to the room to change the towels and nade our way to the center, once we cane back to the hotel after several hours we found our door wide open left by Housekeeping, next morning we made our way to the reception and made a complain as all our belongings where in the room and they would not take accountability if they were stolen, they only apologized and that was all not a voucher not an upgrade absolutely nothing, if you are looking for a Hotel were they dont care about you no good morning no good evening this is the place for you if not DO NOT STAY HERE. This is for the Doppio Hotel team please dont bother replying to my review and rather look into making changes when providing training to your team, people want to feel welcome and safe when staying abroad and you guys failed at both those points, seek out to Train and Develop your team because there is a long way for you guys to go. Hotel what you can get with a really good price in Vienna. It’s a little bit outside of the city but it was just what we wanted. Hotel itself is nice and decent. But were extremely unlucky: we had the room and window to the golf field side but 6:30 in the morning started some maintenance guy blow the grass in the golf field exactly under our window for 2 hours. We had ear plugs but they didn’t help much. As we were on the road and lot of driving ahead we were really sad about it. I guess it would have not been an issue if the room was in the other side of the hotel.

Rooms and breakfast really great and in the beautiful 13. District with the palace around the corner and many places to enjoy good food. What really turned me off was the unpleasant lady receptionist, being rude and unhelpful. I would expect a bit more friendly staff in the front office of a 4+ star hotel. Leading up to the visit we also had troubles with the booking and one of our rooms got “lost” and brought a lot of confusion and frustration. It almost felt like we had to apologize the inconvenience of booking rooms.

We stayed here as part of a 4 day city break with Jet2.com. Located in Heitzing there is an U-bahn station 2 min walk away and trains to city centre are very frequent and take 20 mins. Schönbrunn Palace is a short walk with gates to the palace just around the corner. Reception and restaurant staff are very friendly and welcoming, they speak very good English and are always helpful. We had a small spillage in our room and the housekeeping staff were very helpful. Our room was very clean and warm and beds were exceptionally comfortable. Usual items such as safe and hairdryer are in the room. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and an additional menu to choose from if needed. We had a memorable trip to Vienna and I would certainly stay in this hotel again.
