"It's 2 AM, and I can't sleep after writing this review in the courtyard, so I just got up and sat here. The night in Liuxing Street is so quiet, with only occasional dog barks and distant lights. The moon hangs above the apple tree. I've stayed at this hostel for three days and will be leaving tomorrow. There are some things I want to write down before I forget. First, let's talk about hygiene. I have a peculiar habit: the first thing I do when entering a room is to feel the tabletop and windowsill. And truly, it was spotless. The floor is wood-grain tile, and walking barefoot on it felt perfectly clean. The bedding was freshly changed and smelled warm, like it had been sun-dried. There wasn't a single hair on the public restroom floor, and the trash cans weren't emptied only when overflowing. What touched me most was that the cups in the wash area were placed upside down in a sterilizer cabinet, for guests to use. Yes, a sterilizer cabinet. Location: It's in an alley in Liuxing Street, but very easy to find. Turn right out of the door, and a small alley leads directly to the main street. To the left is an old residential area, perfect for aimless wandering. It's about seven or eight minutes' walk to the Alexander Accordion Museum and also to the famous ice cream shop. If you, like me, enjoy walking and exploring small alleys, this place is a paradise. There are three bus stops nearby, making it convenient to go to Kaxgar and Hanren Street. Service: The front desk staff was a girl with a ponytail, and her voice was soft. It was drizzling when I arrived on the first day, and she handed me a dry towel to wipe my hair. When I came back late at night, I found a message on the small blackboard at the entrance: 'There's yogurt in the fridge, help yourself.' I thought it was for a fee, but when I asked the next day, she smiled and said, 'It's free, we worry you might get overheated in this weather.' When I left, I forgot my power bank, and she chased me down two alleys. Facilities: The beds are incredibly stable; the bunk beds don't wobble. Each bunk has a curtain, a light, two power outlets, and a small shelf, perfect for a phone and glasses. The common area has a water dispenser (with both hot and cold water), a microwave, a refrigerator, and a toaster. There's also a washing machine that can be used by scanning a QR code. The most pleasant surprise was a small bookshelf with not many books, but a few picture books about Ali, which made me want to visit Mount Kailash as I flipped through them. Atmosphere: Unlike some hostels that deliberately force social interaction, the atmosphere here is very natural. In the evening, someone played the Dombra in the courtyard, while others just listened quietly. There was an older gentleman who had just returned from a pilgrimage, his feet still swollen, sitting on the steps drinking sweet tea, and no one disturbed him. Occasionally, people would strike up a conversation, also in soft voices. I'm sitting in the courtyard now, and the evening breeze is a little cool. The moon is bright, and I can see the shadows of the clouds. I'll probably feel a bit reluctant to leave tomorrow. But it's okay; I know I'll be back. The night of Liuxing Street, the dream of Mount Kailash, and the gentleness of this little courtyard all remind me why I'm always on the road."

"It's incredibly noisy, absolutely deafening! Like a bustling market! We got back to the hotel at 9:30 PM, and it was noisy from 9:30 PM until 2:00 AM. All the people on either side of us were families with children, and they were incredibly rude. The kids were yelling loudly in the hallway, and the adults were too. It's like some families with kids treat their homes like their own – utterly inconsiderate! And it started again around 8 or 9 AM – it hasn't stopped since we checked out at 10:30 AM. The constant slamming of doors, the shouting and pacing in the hallway – it's like they'd die if they didn't talk outside. No one from the hotel seems to care. Why can't they put families with children on one floor and other guests on another?! A Home Inn costing over 500 yuan a night isn't cheap, is it?! If you raise prices during peak tourist season, you should at least be able to justify the price. It's as noisy as a market; they have no basic hotel management. I've stayed in Yining for several days and this is the noisiest hotel I've ever encountered. I was thinking of extending my stay for three more nights, but this terrible place has driven me away. It's incredibly noisy! Anyone who stays here knows! ! Environment: Extremely noisy!"

"This hostel I stayed at really exceeded my expectations; I especially loved the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, taking great care of everyone, so no one felt awkward even though it was their first time there. The courtyard was spacious, perfect for sunbathing during the day or chatting in the evening. People naturally chatted and shared stories from their travels, making it feel less like a cold, impersonal accommodation and more like a small community. The biggest surprise was the mulberry tree in the courtyard! We could eat fresh mulberries every day, which was so much fun picking and eating them. And the hostel's cat was absolutely adorable and incredibly affectionate; seeing it every day brightened my mood. If you like hostels with a great atmosphere and a friendly, welcoming feel, I highly recommend this one."

HanTing Hotel (Yining Kazanqi ) ★★

"Upon entering the hotel, the two receptionists were unfriendly and spoke only Uyghur, which we couldn't understand. The sign said check-in was at 12:00 PM, but we arrived at 4:00 PM and were told our room hadn't been cleaned yet. They ignored us when we asked further questions. They had absolutely no sense of service. We were so angry we wanted to call Hanting's headquarters to complain, considering the room cost over 600 yuan. Their service was completely unacceptable."

"Forgot to take photos, but it was excellent! We arrived after 10 PM and they still had congee, steamed buns, and dumplings available. The breakfast was also very rich and varied. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in the area."

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Liuxing Street, making it very convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and finding local food. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choices, and everything was fresh and well prepared. The hotel is also very foreigner-friendly—the staff were welcoming, helpful, and made the check-in process smooth. A special mention to the hotel team: all the staff were beautiful, cheerful, and very hospitable. They always greeted us with warm smiles and were happy to assist whenever we needed help. Their excellent service made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel for anyone visiting Yining.
