Excellent breakfast but I was charged for 2 @ £18.95 each (as I had a single room) so very expensive. On querying this I was told it was standard practice
Large room although was surprised to have a disabled room when I hadn't requested one - meant that sink was low and shower was in the bath
Room was cold. I was told the air conditioning had been put on for the summer and the room temperature couldn't be adjusted. Temperature control in room didn't work apart from blowing more cold air through the vents. Bathroom radiator didn't heat when turned on. Shower was lukewarm.
Volume on TV control didn't work so sound very low
Green light on ceiling for smoke detector kept me awake.
Nice hotel, we spent one night to attend a birthday party nearby. Our room was very quiet, I reckon the thick carpet has something to do with that. Very clean room, the wifi was fast and there was a safe for valuables. We had a great time at breakfast too, they had everything we wanted and more. I'm sure it's not the last time we visit this hotel.

Booked a room for 2 nights, I left after 1 night. I couldn't tolerate another night of noise, thuds and bangs until gone midnight. One person was up slamming doors at 5.45am and a creche from 7.30am. All this was from one room on the floor above.
Great hotel tucked away just perfect for a get away. Just such a lovely set up and the room we had was such a nice size. Will definitely be back. Thank you
We stayed one night after attending the venue for a wedding reception. Our room was perfect; a good size and very clean. The en suite was spot on with soft white bath sheets and the soap was divine! Hairdryer, kettle and even an iron was in the room so couldn’t ask for more.
Breakfast was a buffet and of great quality and plentiful. Everything was cooked to perfection.
The grounds are gorgeous and we even found the fountain featured in one of the Harry Potter movies!!
We stayed for 6 nights over Easter. Arriving wasn't the best. Rooms weren't ready for the 3pm check in time so had to sit in the bar and wait. No offer of a free drink for the inconvenience either. Half hour later our room was ready. Then, even though advertised as having air-conditioning, the rooms dont. The room was hot but reception did provide a fan.
The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Especially Helen on reception who sorted our fan.
The rooms are dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment to get up to proper IHG standard. Paint was cracking on the walls and dints in the wall from where people had hit with suitcases etc. That being said, the beds were very comfy.
Breakfast was the best we've had at any HI Express hotel. Food always topped up, even when it was really busy. Good choice of food and nicely prepared.
Location is really handy for getting the train into London as the station is across the road and Euston is a 25 minute ride away.
When they finally refurbish the hotel it will be a great HI Express.

GGuest UserVery lovely apartment, clean and cosy. Accessing the flat on the first day was like a treasure hunt 😄. Nice location too. Heating can be improved.
GGuest UserHotel is close to shopping centre and just walking distance for harry potter pick up point bus stop. The staff are also approachable and willing to assist. The room is huge and have iron and hair dryer which is very helpful for the guest.

AAnonymous UserEverything was lovely but the staff were not very friendly and we were not informed about the £200 pound deposit we needed to put down or that we would be locked out of our room at 11am
Would definitely stay again, but it would have been nice to have a tiny bit more info and customer service
PPlayful+JoyfulThe hotel staff said that he couldnt find my booking although I provided my booking reference and voucher and request 15 pounds for Early check in and charged my account 51 pounds in total. Although I kept saying I booked via Trip.com and paid while I booked the hotel online. It was a prepaid booking. I am so disappointed that the hotel sent me the invoice & receipt on 14 March but I was told I would get the balance of receipt and I would be charged the early check in fee 15 pounds only, the accommodation fee after I checked out at 12pm on March 15. On March 15, when I was checking out, I checked with another staff who was on duty, he said the hotel didn’t charge my card, but the agency card, it was acceptable. Unfortunately, on my bank statement I found that the hotel charged my card for all. And it was really disappointed because they didnt really dealed with my questions and my situation. I did double pay for the accommodation to Trip. Com and the Primier Inn Richmanworth.
GGuest UserThe hotel itself is very dated and basic but absolutely fine for a night stay before or after a flight. Everything was just perfect for us. Cheap and cheerful for our budget. Staff were helpful and check in/ out easy. Ideal location for Stansted airport as it's literally 5 minutes away from the airport carparks. It's at a welcome break area so KFC, burger king and subway onsite.
GGuest UserLocation is good if you drive as it is close to Stansted airport and Bishop's Stortford. Staff are generally nice and helpful, but you need to inform the frontdesk if you need your room cleaned and tidied up the next day, as merely hanging the sign on your door would be ignored.
