This is a 300 year old inn, which has been recently renovated. Very clean. Nice choice of breakfasts included in the stay and you can have two choices at one sitting. I had a Belfast bap with 2 sausages, 2 pieces of bacon and a fried egg. And also overnight oats with a lot of fresh berries. There were also toasts, jams, breakfast cereals with milk. We had a nice dinner in the pub area of the Inn (seafood chowder and sticky toffee and orange pudding) next to the real fireplace. You can also have your dinner in the restaurant area of the Inn where they serve breakfast. Two hundred metres from the hotel there is a very interesting Norman Carrickfergus castle built in 12th century and used until early 20th century by the army.

As a birthday treat I booked their afternoon tea went with my sister their 3 tier cake stand came loaded with finger sandwichs,cup of soup,scone with butter jam and cream,and four small cakes, and choice of coffee or tea.We were seated at a window table with a view over the sea.The staff were very attentive.

Was amazing i will defintly be back stayed in shephards hut was so nice spa is amazing got private tub at river food great staff are so nice and so freindly everyone was helpful breakfast in river room wat an experience they have just thought of everything wee log fire outside and freestanding bath loved the shephards hut lay out walks all round it are just lovly want just cant say enuf its a little piece of heaven im local n totaly forgot i was local its a whole different world ordered pizza n chips to our hut it was hot wen arrived ten mins later want to stay in the dens nxt time in the forest genious whoever designed that place n right here in ballymena thank you all so much oh n rabbits n squirels running around

Lynsey was perfection. Friendly and so helpful. I really enjoyed my stay room was beautiful and food was great. Breakfast service so handy all staff so kind. Lynsey helped in all ways possible. I will definitely return and recommend the hotel to other friends and family. Lynsey was an award winning girl and made our stay. Will be back for sure.
