A ginkgo leaf viewing spot in Tarumizu, Kagoshima Prefecture When I went to Kagoshima during the autumn leaves season, I did some research beforehand and found a perfect spot to visit. It's wonderful that they open up the ginkgo garden that the couple created. Tarumi Senbon Ginkgo Garden in Tarumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture♪ Tarumi City is located at the base of Sakurajima on the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture. In Tarumi City, you can see ginkgo trees as far as the eye can see♪ The ginkgo garden was built over many years by the couple who own it, and about 1,200 ginkgo trees are planted on a 4.5 hectare site♪ Every year, the ginkgo trees turn yellow and are lit up from late November to early December✨ Admission is free. After a full day of exploring, we found the perfect spot to wind down—Yuttarikan Footbath. What made this simple little spot so special wasn’t just the warm, mineral-rich water, but the breathtaking view that came with it. As we sat down and dipped our tired feet into the comforting hot spring water, we were greeted with a clear, unobstructed view of Sakurajima, standing proudly across the calm sea. The blue sky stretched endlessly above, meeting the ocean in a perfect horizon. It was one of those serene moments where everything slowed down. There was a quiet, almost meditative atmosphere, with the sound of gentle waves and a few birds in the distance. We found ourselves lingering longer than expected, just soaking it all in—literally and figuratively. Tarumizu Port is an important maritime transportation hub on the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, connecting Kamoike Port on the Satsuma Peninsula and Tarumizu City on the Osumi Peninsula. There are also a lot of souvenir shochus for sale at the shop, and I was surprised at how many varieties there are of Yachiyo's shochu alone! There is a large free parking lot, and although drivers will not be able to taste the shochu, I recommend going by car as it is deep in the mountains! Spring is the season of blooming flowers🌸, today we recommend a flower viewing festival in Kagoshima's Taekui City - Takato Azalea Festival🎉! This year's festival will be held at Takato Azalea Hill Park at an altitude of 500 meters 🏞️, where you will be able to see the "Sada Azalea" native to Kyushu and about 100 other species, 100,000 native azaleas will dye the entire mountain red and pink💗. And there is an observation deck at the top of the park. In addition to 360-degree views of the azaleas of the entire park, you can also see the Kirishima Mountains on the north side, the Shibushi Bay on the east side, the Takakuma Mountains on the south side, and the wide Jinjiang Bay, Sakurajima, and Satsuma Peninsula. 📍Location 📍 In Kagoshima's Kagoya Takumi City, self-drive through to stay there, found the hotel rooftop viewing Sakurajima volcano is good, next to the sea view to see, the environment is really beautiful. But the transportation is not very convenient. There is a coffee machine in the lobby, you can make free coffee with hot and cold and three coffee options, there are also matcha and oolong tea bags, microwave oven and other use. 🛏️ Room It is a combination of modern and Japanese style, plus the hotel only opened this year, all the facilities are very new and design sense.
