There's no need to ride motorcycles or horses, as they are expensive, and it's cold in the morning, which can easily lead to a cold. There are many shopping spots near the scenic area, and people will constantly push local oxygen bottles. Don't be fooled into buying them; they're a rip-off! Prepare in advance if possible, or buy them directly in Shangri-La Town for about 20 RMB per bottle. There are only two toilets in the scenic area, one at Zhaguanbeng and one along the short hiking trail. If possible, drink less water because the long trails are not yet open due to weather conditions. The long trails refer to the hiking routes to Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake, which are at high altitudes but offer very beautiful scenery.
