KARA PEARSON

Life is a wilderness, not a track

After returning from Western Sichuan, my eyes were blessed with many sights, but my body endured much hardship. Before going, I didn't make much of a plan, intending to join a tour group, so this time I've also put together a lazy person's no-brainer version of a five-day Western Sichuan tour guide🙌 ⏰Best time to go: Autumn is the top choice, with just the right temperature, neither cold nor hot. Those who want to go can like and save this post, and I will share the detailed strategy with you later. First of all, be sure to check the weather☀️ before you leave, as there is a big difference in Western Sichuan with or without the sun. 🚗Travel preparations: 1⃣Choosing a travel group: Avoid holidays in autumn, and there will be fewer people in the tour group. For example, this time it was just me and my friend, and we could set our own travel time (it's still best to get up early to avoid the daily peak crowds). The housekeeper will create a group chat before departure and post the next day's itinerary every day, and the driver will also remind you of the departure time for the next day. We just waited for the pick-up, which was super comfortable (no need to worry about the driver's accommodation and meals, we paid for our own tickets but the driver could help us buy them). 2⃣Booking flights: The itinerary in Western Sichuan starts very early every day, so try to arrive the night before, the earlier the better for peace of mind. 3⃣Clothing preparation: I brought clothes for all four seasons because Western Sichuan is like experiencing all four seasons in one. ⭕️Essentials: Thick coat/thick sweater/windbreaker/woolen hat/long pants/sunglasses/comfortable hiking shoes Non-essentials: Down jacket (not necessary)/fleece-lined pants 💊Medicine preparation: Take Rhodiola/altitude sickness pills/glucose in advance, and also carry them with you. 4⃣Personal items: Bring a selfie stick with buttons (a must! My friend thought the photos were taken by the driver, but they were all taken with the selfie stick); ID card; power bank; face mask; sun umbrella; sunscreen; thermos; portable tissues; cash, this is really important!! Accommodation: Although the accommodation was arranged by the tour group, I was very satisfied! ⭕️Note!: There is no signal for China Unicom here, remember to bring cash to buy food. Day2: Also got up early to go to Litang, Qianhu Tibetan Village is really beautiful! It's strange that there was no entrance fee to enter. Ethnic style outfits are very photogenic, and I'm glad I hesitated and didn't buy a Tibetan dress experience, because our group got it for free on the fourth day! Tuer Mountain is too cold, I just took a photo and got on the bus. ⭕️Note!: The wind on Tuer Mountain is really strong, be sure to bring a thick hat! Day3: One-day tour of Daocheng Yading, so beautiful it's to die for, so tiring I wanted to die. We entered the scenic area early in the morning, took a bus for over an hour, and then spent 80 yuan on a round-trip electric cart ticket to Luorong Pasture. We originally planned to queue up to buy horse tickets to walk a few kilometers less, but my e-personality exploded and I exchanged 600 cash with a passerby (300 yuan per person one-way), only to find out we had to wait three hours for a horse, so we bravely gave up on horseback riding and hiked 10 kilometers! The whole journey was both tiring and enjoyable (physically and visually each had their own). The benefits of going up the mountain early are that when you come down, you see the exhausted people who just arrived, and you feel compassion. ⭕️Note!: -Bring sunglasses/face mask/cookies/self-heating rice/cola -Definitely buy the electric cart round-trip ticket, otherwise it's too tiring -Get to Luorong Pasture by 8:30 am for horseback riding, otherwise you'll have to wait a long time. Milk Sea clears at 3 pm, don't dawdle too long on the way Day4: Because we were too tired, we rested for a day Day5: The main attractions on the last day were Tagong Grassland and Muya Park. Tagong Grassland is right by the road, so we only went to Muya Park. It's more beautiful than I imagined! And very photogenic. 💰: The cost per person for this trip was about 3K, I can only say that Western Sichuan is really not suitable for budget travel, but youth never waits for anyone. Go for it, travelers❗️❗️❗️
