But the moment I walked into the lobby of LUX Chongzuo, I was speechless at the "living" landscape painting before me. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the karst peaks were as dark as ink, the Mingshi River meandered by, and the sunlight shone through the mist onto the rice fields, an unreal beauty. The luxury here is very "Chinese": no ostentatious crystal chandeliers, but a collision of rough-hewn stone and brass; no cookie-cutter marble, but hand-woven rattan art everywhere. The best part is that you can enjoy champagne by the infinity pool, but when you look up, you can see farmers leading water buffalo slowly through the fields.
