The Zhejiang River is full of inscriptions, and Zhejiang has famous stone tablets from the Ming and Qing dynasties!

In the ninth year of Jiajing (1530), Wang Shouren's disciples Wang Chen, Xue Kan, Qian Dehong and others founded Tianzhen Jingshe, also known as Tianzhen Academy, to commemorate their teacher. It had the functions of worship, gathering and lectures. After reconstruction, it was named "Honourable Temple". The Ming Dynasty stone inscription "Tianzhen Jingshe Inscription" was written by Xue Kan. The poem written by Emperor Qianlong in the stele pavilion of Liuhe Pagoda is one of the largest and most complete steles written by Emperor Qianlong in Hangzhou. The Imperially Bestowed Kaihua Temple Stele is a decree from the Secretariat that specially bestowed the name Kaihua Temple on the Liuhe Pagoda on Yuelun Mountain. It uses three different scripts: official script, running script, and regular script. Shengyin Temple was originally the palace of Emperor Kangxi on Gushan Mountain in Hangzhou. In 1757, Emperor Qianlong discovered in Shengyin Temple the "Portraits of Sixteen Arhats" created by Guanxiu in the first year of the Guangming period of the Tang Dynasty (880 AD), which was recorded in the "Xuanhe Painting Album" of the Northern Song Dynasty. Later, he wrote in praises for each statue in his own handwriting and modified the original names of the arhats on the paintings according to the Sanskrit scriptures. He then had the Zen Master Mingshui copy them and have them engraved on a stele. The Yanguan Poseidon Temple was built in the eighth year of Yongzheng's reign (1729) by Li Wei, the Governor-General of Zhejiang Province. The main deity worshipped is Li Lu, the god of the sea, with Qian Liu and Wu Zixu as his attendants. The Su Causeway Spring Dawn Imperial Stele is the only surviving imperial stele of the Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake inscribed by Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong. On the front is the calligraphy of "Su Di Chun Xiao" written by Emperor Kangxi. The Qianlong Imperial Stele in Tangqi was erected to record Emperor Qianlong's commendation for Zhejiang's active tax payment during his southern tour in 1751. It bears witness to the history of the development and prosperity of the ancient town of Tangqi due to the canal. It is now a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province. The "Nanming Mountain Poetry Stele" is located on the stone beam of Nanming Mountain. It was written by Zhao Liangxi, the prefect of Chuzhou in the 18th year of the Guangxu period (1892). The stone carvings of Mituo Temple are located on the northwest slope of Mituo Mountain and were carved in the fourth year of the Guangxu period (1878). The content of the stone carving is "The Amitabha Sutra" by Kumarajiva. It is the most complete large-scale Buddhist cliff carving from the Qing Dynasty in Hangzhou and is also a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province.
