Lake of Returned Sword

Hoan Kiem Lake is a 12 ha fresh water lake located in the historical center of Hanoi, also known as Sword Lake. The banks of the lake are popular for the locals to do morning exercise, since the lake is not so big, visitors tend to walk around this peaceful and beautiful lake, especially on the weekend. In the middle of the lake is a small island with a small stone pagoda, but you cannot go there, because there are no bridges or boats to the island. The Ly Thai To statue which is a large bronze sculpture of the founder of the Ly dynasty of Vietnam was erected in 2004. There are people playing games, children riding motorized cars, people taking beautiful photoshoots, vendors selling snacks, souvenirs, drawing pictures and many more for you to discover.
