Pang Tong Palace: A Home for Wildlife

If you’re heading to the village of Ban Rak Thai on the Thai-Myanmar border, make sure to stop by Pang Tong Palace. Despite its name, it’s actually a sanctuary for wildlife hidden deep in the Chiang Mai Highlands. Here you will find a sprawling estate where horses, fish and birds enjoy a quiet life. Entrance was free when I went in the low season. But be careful on the road. It is steep, slippery and strewn with rocks all over.
