Excellent Ramen in Nagasaki

Hiiragi Ramen Shop is centrally located in Dozo, Nagasaki It is easily accessible on foot from the Nagasaki Chinatown by 5 min. I passed by it a few times during my two days stay in Nagasaki and there was always a long line of people . I finally went in at 3pm to give it a try. There are 4 types of ramen to choose from, plus a few rice bowls and snacks such as gyoza. We ordered the dan dan noodle and the Aosa ramen (seaweed soup ). The dan dan is spicy and flavorful, while the seaweed ramen was quite new to me. The soup is full of small pieces of seaweed, and some even melted into the soup. It was really excellent and has all the seaweed flavor in your mouth as you slurp up the noodles. The gyoza was also crispy and juicy! The noodle portion was quite big, but if it is not enough, you can always add the extra portion of noodle or get a nigiri ( rice ball) to soak up the soup. Many of the teenage boys around me were all eating this way! The shop is opened until 3am on weekdays and 5am on weekends.
