Khon Kaen City Prang Ku

I didn't think Khon Kaen would have a stone castle. Prang Ku Prapachai is located in Tambon Bua Yai, Amphoe Nam Phong, Khon Kaen Province. The Fine Arts Department registered it as an ancient site in 1935. Prang Ku Prapachai is a religious site of the Arokhayasala in Khmer art, built with laterite and sandstone. It was built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII of the ancient Khmer Empire around the 18th Buddhist century (1720-1780). It is surrounded by a laterite wall. In front is a large pond or Baray, which is believed to be a sacred well. The water in the pond never dries up or overflows, but is full all year round. In addition, there is Luang Pho Ku and sacred stones for the general public to worship in the north of Prang Ku, near the ordination hall of Wat Ku Prapachai.
