Following the recommendation of a friend, I came to this low-key old oden shop, and I was pleasantly surprised! There are no noisy crowds in the store. Almost all the people who come here are locals wearing kimonos or suits. The warm yellow light reflects the faded Japanese posters on the wall. An old lady wearing reading glasses is carefully taking care of the bubbling oden pot. The rich aroma of soup mixed with the umami flavor of bonito fills the space. It is exactly like the real scene of the Japanese drama "Midnight Diner"! The oden here is cooked over a slow fire. The radish absorbs the kelp broth and melts in your mouth. The bamboo rolls are chewy and fragrant, and you can taste the rich aroma of fish paste when you bite them. The most amazing thing is the curry rice🍛! Each skewer of oden costs only a few hundred yen, which is affordable and filling.
