📕【History】 Baoshan Temple is located in Luodian Town, Baoshan District, Shanghai. It was first built in the sixth year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of 500 years. During this period, it has undergone several changes and has been abandoned several times. Only the Hall of Heavenly Kings and the Great Buddha's Hall remain. The current temple was rebuilt in 2005. The architectural layout is in the style of a late Tang Dynasty palace, constructed with pure African Padauk wood, with a rigorous structure and simple and generous style. The total construction area of the temple is about 12,000 square meters, making it the largest temple in Shanghai. 📸【Highlights】 ✨Architecture: Baoshan Temple is constructed entirely of wood using Tang Dynasty construction techniques. The layout, form, style, and methods all follow the Tang and Song Dynasty styles, perfectly presenting the simple and magnificent charm of late Tang Dynasty palace architecture with a thousand-year-old mortise and tenon technique. The temple's architecture is made of African Padauk wood. The main halls are all located on the central axis, with subsidiary halls on the east and west sides, surrounded by corridors to form a 'seven-hall system' layout. The main hall of the temple, the Great Buddha's Hall, is built in imitation of the Great Hall of the Foguang Temple on Mount Wutai. It is seven bays wide and four bays deep, with eaves extending out to 4 meters. Inside the hall, Sakyamuni, Manjusri Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva are worshipped, with two venerable figures, Kasyapa and Ananda, standing on the left and right.
