The Yokohama Travel Mecha is the last romantic post for boys to say goodbye
🚶This trip to Japan was actually quite rushed, with many attractions planned for each day. This morning, I embarked on a boy's dream-chasing journey, getting up early to rush to Kamakura to see the green train from Slam Dunk, and by the time I was heading to Tokyo in the afternoon, it was already getting dark. I had planned to visit the Gundam Factory in the afternoon, but the schedule was delayed. Still, I clenched my teeth and decided to go, thinking this might be the last chance. I guess many boys must feel the same way, fulfilling the long-held wishes of their bygone childhoods.
🚇The Gundam Factory is located in Yokohama, and you navigate to Gundam Factory Yokohama. The nearest station is Motomachi-Chukagai Station. After exiting the subway, you'll see a very tall Marine Tower (I think that's the name) ahead. Continue forward, and you'll see it. From a distance, you can see the Gundam Factory standing by the waterfront, and you can see the half-body of the Gundam without even entering. 💰The ticket is 1650 yen per person, and 3300 yen to go up the tower. You can queue at the entrance to buy tickets, and it doesn't take too long to wait.
⚡️There are four shows in a row, and it takes about an hour to see the whole thing. You can rest on your own between each mini-show, and there's a large square in front where you can watch the show. Of course, with a tower ticket, you can go up and see the Gundam up close, which is a different experience. Watching from the square gives you a more complete view, while watching from the tower is more thrilling. Additionally, the second floor of the restaurant opposite is also a nice viewing platform, though the view is a bit distant.
🤖This time, it's like saying goodbye, because ever since I was a child, I've had this dream planted in my heart, and I had to fulfill it at least once. It's a pity that it will be dismantled on the 31st. But when the music starts, the lights come on, and the mecha moves, that burning passion in the heart will still light up the chest. Goodbye, Gundam, goodbye, youth.

Sankeien Garden Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Garden
Sankeien (三溪園) is a spacious Japanese style garden in southern Yokohama which exhibits a number of historic buildings from across Japan. There is a pond, small rivers, flowers and wonderful scrolling trails that make you think you are in Kyoto rather than Yokohama. The vast classical Japan garden covering over 175,000 square meters, renowned for its seasonal beauty.
The garden was built by Hara Sankei and opened to the public in 1904. Among the historic buildings exhibited in the park are an elegant daimyo (feudal lord) residence, several tea houses and the main hall and three storied pagoda of Kyoto's old Tomyoji Temple.
From Yokohama Station
Take bus number 8 or 148 from the station's east exit to Sankeien-Iriguchi (30-35 minutes, 220 yen one way, frequent departures) from where Sankeien is another five minutes by foot. The same bus lines can also be boarded at Sakuragicho Station (20-25 minutes, 220 yen one way).
From Negishi Station
Take the JR Negishi Line to Negishi Station from where it is a ten minute bus ride by line number 58, 99 or 101 to Honmoku (220 yen one way, frequent departures). From there, Sankeien is another 5-10 minutes by foot. Alternatively, you can walk from Negishi Station to Sankeien in about 30-45 minutes or take a taxi (about 1500 yen one way)
The rich culture of Japan
Been to Sankeien Garden multiple times. The central pond is one of the garden’s main visual draws, but you could spend several hours wandering around its winding trails and discovering the many small waterfalls, streams, ponds, footbridges, and bamboo groves in the garden. Sankeien is especially popular in spring for the cherry blossoms – don’t forget to try the cherry blossom-flavoured ice cream – and in fall for the gorgeous maples and ginkgo trees.

🌺 Relaxing at Sankeien Garden 🇯🇵
#cherryblossom2024
🌼🏵 I had an exciting adventure during our vacation when I visited the lively city of Japan. The spring season transformed the surroundings into a paradise, and walking through Sankeien Garden left us feeling rejuvenated. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery in this tranquil oasis, we were captivated by the breathtaking views that never failed to impress us, making lasting memories.
In 1906, a stunning, classic Japanese garden was meticulously designed by a wealthy silk merchant. During the Meiji era, as religious artifacts faced destruction due to declining official support, this local merchant took it upon himself to rescue these precious treasures from oblivion, bringing them in from various parts of Japan. Today, the grounds boast a magnificent three-story pagoda from Kyoto, as well as a grand feudal lord's residence, alongside numerous other invaluable structures. Visitors can enjoy the garden's beauty in the evening during the enchanting cherry blossom season in April, as well as during the serene Moon Viewing event in September.
The opulent and captivating hideaway has etched a permanent mark in the recesses of my mind. The delight of revisiting and savouring every instant in this exclusive haven is simply unparalleled. 😘🌸🩷#mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip
