About Furong Town Furong Town, originally named Wang Village, is an ancient town inhabited by the Tujia people, with a history of two thousand years. Located in Yongshun County within Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, this small town is surrounded by water on three sides and has a history of over two thousand years. It was named after the same-titled movie 'Furong Town' which was filmed here. The town is known for a waterfall that runs through it, and the Tujia stilted houses built close to the waterfall, also known as the 'thousand-year-old ancient town hanging on the waterfall'. Compared to Fenghuang Ancient City, Furong Town is a bit more serene and less commercialized. Standing by the waterfall that runs through the town, one can feel the splashing water and hear the roaring sound, with a thick mist in the air - experiencing the majestic spectacle of the waterfall plunging straight down. When visiting Furong Town, do not miss the three wonderful and culturally rich performances at night. The first two are held outdoors, and the third is in an indoor theater.
