Sanqing Mountain is located in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is famous for its granite peak forest landscape, with towering peaks resembling a giant python emerging from the mountain and the Eastern Goddess, among other iconic sights. It is also a sacred site of Taoist culture, named after the three peaks Yujing, Yuxu, and Yuhua, which resemble the three Taoist Pure Ones sitting atop the mountain. The mountain preserves Taoist architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as the Sanqing Palace. The West Coast high-altitude plank road offers views over deep valleys and distant mountains, creating a refreshing and uplifting experience. Combining natural wonders with rich cultural heritage, it is one of the most beautiful peak forests. 📝 Tips: Sanqing Mountain has three cableways to ascend: Jinsha Cableway, Waishuangxi Cableway, and Gangshou Cableway. Which cableway to take depends on your actual situation, such as sightseeing time, physical strength, depth of exploration, and whether you plan to stay overnight on the mountain. Jinsha Cableway is suitable for visitors who want to check in at the Giant Python Emerging and Eastern Goddess spots, with a short sightseeing time and minimal physical exertion. However, if you want to visit other attractions, you will need to hike. Advantages: Close to famous attractions, ideal for visitors who only want to see the Giant Python Emerging and Eastern Goddess. Attractions in this area are concentrated, but visiting others requires hiking. Suitable for visitors with some physical strength but limited time. Disadvantages: Crowded with tourists, queues for ascending and descending can last from several minutes to hours. Waishuangxi Cableway has the lowest altitude, so the entire sightseeing process involves hiking. It is suitable for visitors with some physical strength who enjoy hiking, want to experience the unique peaks and stones of Wanshouyuan Scenic Area, and have enough time. Advantages: Has a hiking path uphill, ideal for those who like hiking and want to experience Wanshouyuan Scenic Area and Tianmen Peak Group. Disadvantages: Far from famous attractions, and the whole route is mostly hiking. Gangshou Cableway has the highest altitude. Except for a short uphill section at the beginning, the rest is a gentle plank road and downhill. Advantages: Almost no queues for ascending and descending cableways, gentle route, suitable for visitors with time who do not like hiking or have limited physical strength. Sightseeing takes 5-6 hours; waiting time for descent is uncertain. 🗓 Recommended Route: If you cannot tolerate long queues when descending and have moderate physical strength, you can ascend via Jinsha and descend via Gangshou, but this requires more physical effort because the first half is a hiking process. The route is the same as the Gangshou up route, with options to visit either West Coast or Sunshine Coast Scenic Areas. Accommodation on the mountain: Goddess Hotel: Better environment, right next to the Goddess statue, more expensive. It takes 20 minutes to watch the sunrise at Yutai, but it is far from Liuxia Platform and Wanshouyuan Scenic Area. Rishang Mountain Villa: Average environment, good location, 20 minutes to watch the sunset at Liuxia Platform, 40 minutes to watch the sunrise at Yutai, 20 minutes to Wanshouyuan Scenic Area.
