The Most Iconic Place In Melaka 🇲🇾
#familytrips2024
This time i visited the charming UNESCO World Heritage city; Melaka that located an easy drive from Kuala Lumpur. This city is rich with history, culture, colonial buildings, ancient landmarks, family-friendly attractions, and yummy local cuisine.
If you visit Melaka, you must Visit The Most Iconic Place in here, Red Square Melaka (Dutch Square). It harbors some of the city’s most popular buildings including Christ Church, the Malacca Art Gallery and Youth Museum, and the Stadthuys, all surrounding the Queen Victoria Fountain and the Red Clock Tower.
If you want to take an insta-worthy picture in this place, I recommend you to visit this place in the early morning to avoid tourist (i came to this place around 6AM). And point plus if you came at this hour is: this building is surrounded by beautiful and colorful lamps.

Colourful and Vibrant Night Market
Jonker Walk is in the Chinatown area in Malacca. It starts from across Malacca River and the street is filled with historical houses along its left and right sides. Many of which are shops selling antiques, textiles, foods, handicrafts and souvenirs such as keychains and shirts.
Jonker Walk turns into a night market every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. until 12 midnight. Dont worry about safety as its street blocked for traffic.
There are a huge range of wonderful things to buy and eat here. You’ll find stalls selling everything from souvenirs, food produce, clothing, toys, jewellery and accessories, temporary tattoos, art prints. Food such as coconut ice-cream, curried fish balls, pineapple tart and steamed buns can be found here. There are so many things to do and eat at Jonker Street Night Market.
We found many stalls at Jonker Street Night Market selling very unique gifts that we’ve not seen before in any other night market in south east Asia and we would say Jonker Street is definitely one of our favourites.

When visiting Melaka you must try one of the famous restaurants in Malacca City named: Famosa Chicken Rice Ball. Their signature menu is chicken rice balls that accompanied by roasted or steamed chicken.
Chicken rice is basically rice cooked in drippings of boiled chicken and ginger. It is oily but quite tasty. And the most important here is their meatballs, this menu costs 0.50 RM per piece.

We were walking around Mahkota Parade Malacca to find a restaurant while waiting to check-in into our hotel room. We decided to eat at Tony Roma's as the front staff was friendly and greeted us with a smile.
We ordered the potato skin as starter and the combo lunch as the mains. We were not dissapointed. The potato skin was crispy and delicious. The beef ribs and beef medallion was so tender and was cooked perfectly. It was a great lunch.

Nyonya Cuisine at Restoran Aunty Lee, Melaka
#wheretogo #authentic #nyonya #malacca
My recent dining experience at Restoran Aunty Lee was a true culinary adventure! I had the pleasure of indulging in a feast that included otak-otak, okra, beef rendang, and cendol, and each dish was a masterpiece in its own right.
The otak-otak, steamed fish paste bursting with aromatic spices, was a delightful start to the meal. The blanched okra, top with with a mixed combination of shallot, chili, lime juice and dried shrimps , offered a refreshing contrast. The beef rendang was a highlight, its tender meat infused with rich, flavorful spices, making it an absolute treat for the senses. To round off the feast, the cendol dessert was a sweet indulgence---shaved ice with local Gula Melaka and coconut milk, perfectly balancing the meal.
Overall, it is not just a culinary adventure but also a heartwarming experience on their friendly services. They offering helpful recommendations and also welcoming atmosphere.
Super Chio Heritage Hotel Melaka!😍✨🏠
#wheretogo
I recently went to malacca for the first time in ages and stayed at the Baba House Melaka. It was a very good stay and I thoroughly enjoyed it! They served welcome drinks which you can redeem with a antique coin they gave us or you can choose to keep the coin instead. The room I stayed in was a King Deluxe and it was a corner room on the first floor. I loved how spacious it was and the tv was super new and could connect to Netflix. The aircon was very responsive and cold just like how I like it due to weather being so hot lately. The bed was on the firmer side but it really supported my back well and I had a very restful night sleep. They also provided two pillows, one soft and one firm which I think was very thoughtful. The towels were very absorbent and not too thick nor thin. The provided toiletries also had a very nice smell to them which I really enjoyed. I loved the room decoration and that the toilet had natural lighting. The breakfast buffet was also very delightful with a wide variety and the quality of the food was above average. I spent a good 1.5hours eating and enjoying the natural lighting of the dining area. The hotel was still under some minor renovation but it is 80-90% opened. the location is very central and easy to assess the jonker street and other attractions. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to melaka to stay!

A Boeing 747 in a little Malacca town
#freehotelstay
People go to Malacca for the food, culture, and shopping. They usually end up in Malacca City or Jonker Street, but I suggest going further down (and closer to Singapore!) to Freeport A'Famosa Outlet, nearby a little town called Tampin.
Freeport A'Famosa is an extensive area of over 80 fashion brands, and it's latest and heavyweight tenant is none other than Coach. You can't miss it because the whole outlet is built into a decommissioned Boeing 747 jumbo jet! It towers over the whole area and makes a really cool background for a photo opportunity.
It's also free to enter because technically, the whole plane is a shop. Just be prepared to join a queue as many people flock here to see the jumbo jet. I suggest going as sunset approaches because the view is stunning! Overall, not to be missed when making a roadtrip or daytrip to Malacca, Malaysia. Don't forget to get your retail therapy in too.

Located in the middle of the Jonker Street and tucked in the back of a souvenir shop, the cafe opened since 2014 featuring with a lot of brunch items with good coffees. If you are visiting the place, highly recommend to go there earlier as there will be long queue (we waited for an hour) and remember to try the Durian Pancake!!!!! 🍮🍪🥧🍵☕️

Fusion pasta delights in Bite of Life Cafe
#myfoodies 📍Bite of Life Cafe is a quaint and rustic-themed cafe nestled at the back alley of a series of shoplots located along Jalan Bendahara, Melaka. About 5minutes away from the famous Jonker Walk.
📌 They have limited selection of #foods and #drinks , mostly are extensive range of fusion pasta.
👉🏻 I tried their foods & drinks as follows;
- Spaghetti Creamy Tomyam
- Nasi Yak Mai (spicy buttermilk chicken)
- A plate of Beef Dendeng
- Hot Lemon & ice water
- Mojito Soda herbs
Overall rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
👉🏻 Brief review:
- Spaghetti was not al dente, a bit overcooked, but Creamy tomyam sauce is a great fusion and flavourful!
- Nasi Yak Mai is simple, #delicious but not unique to me.
- Beef Dendeng is #delicious! good texture, not hard to chew. Advisable eat with plain rice to avoid tendency of saltiness if eat the dish alone.
- Mojito Soda herbs taste like a tropical drink with mint so tasteful & refreshing!
✅ There are indoor & outdoor seating area and both environment is very cozy, great place to chill and clean. Price for #foods is similar with other food cafes in Malaysia ranging from RM15-40.
If you are looking forward for fusion foods, don’t miss out to come to Bite of Life Cafe in Melaka!

Visiting the Past in Red Square, Malacca
Visiting the Red Square in Malacca was a delight for lovers of historical buildings. This historical gem has a vibrant atmosphere and rich heritage. The square's red-painted buildings, including the Stadthuys and Christ Church, create a charming colonial backdrop that transports you back in time.
As I strolled through the square, I couldn't help but appreciate the architectural marvels surrounding me. The Stadthuys, a Dutch administrative building turned museum, provided a fascinating glimpse into Malacca's colonial past. Inside, I discovered artifacts, exhibits, and intricate details that highlighted the city's cultural heritage.
Christ Church, an iconic landmark within the Red Square, stood majestically with its striking red facade. Its interior boasts beautiful stained glass windows and a serene atmosphere that invites visitors to contemplate. I had the opportunity to learn about the church's significance and the role it played in shaping Malacca's history.
The square itself exudes a lively ambiance, often bustling with tourists and locals alike. Street vendors lined the sidewalks, offering delicious local delicacies, souvenirs, and crafts. I savored the opportunity to sample mouthwatering Nyonya snacks and shop for unique mementos.
The Red Square's central location also made it a convenient starting point to explore other attractions in Malacca. The nearby A Famosa fortress, Jonker Street, and the Malacca River were all within walking distance, allowing me to delve deeper into the city's vibrant culture and heritage.
Overall, my visit to the Red Square in Malacca left me with cherished memories. Its architectural beauty, historical significance, and lively atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a glimpse into Malaysia's rich past.

The First Revolving 'Gyro Tower' in Malaysia
Menara Taming Sari is the first revolving 'Gyro Tower' in Malaysia which is 80 meters high, you can see the majority of interesting places nearby such as the Samudera Museum, Dataran Pahlawan, St Paul's Church, Melaka Island and so on. The most interesting time to try this activity is in the evening because you have the opportunity to see the panoramic beauty of the sunset.
The duration of the ride up is not too long, around 7-8 minutes only and during that period, you will rotate 360 degrees 2-3 times. Even if it's for a moment, but this kind of experience is very valuable. Don't worry, the rotation of this deck is very slow and you won't feel dizzy.

Absolutely stunning heritage hotel
📍Baba House Melaka. I totally loved my staycation here! This is my PART I review✨
Housed in a heritage building showcasing traditional Peranakan culture, I was really blown away with Baba’s House exterior and interior aesthetically pleasing ambience. From the moment I entered the lobby, warm welcome from the receptionist and I got two (2) nyonya coins to redeem for welcome drink.
✨PART I REVIEW: Deluxe King Room/ Accommodation
Spacious room, King bed, they have rattan wardrobe with hanger inside, security box, hairdryer, complete amenities, clean room and clean bathroom. Separate shower & toilet. Big TV and choices of channels. I brought with me 1 luggage & 2 bags and still have space to perform prayer. Laundry bag, room slipper & mineral water. Iron in room upon request.
Bed is comfy & honestly, I had good sleep during my stay here.
‼️The only cons is that I got a room at ground level so quite difficult to get phone line, sometime no coverage and no wi-fi. I cannot complete works in my room as no internet reached.
My suggestion is please request for a room at higher level and avoid ground level. Unless you are having ME-time and MUTE from outside interaction, so this is adequate for you.

Recommended place to visit! This Wild Corriander Cafe located near jonker street. It serves halal peranakan food such as nasi lemak, bluepea and yellow rice, pie tie, and fried fritter.
During this hot weather, you should also order their refreshing plum with lemon and mint! Totally worth to try. It is so nice and portion very huge. The ambience also quite good although a bit warm as they only use fans. However, there is private and close room available upstairs. Great for buka puasa while jonker street is close during weekdays.
