Japanese Culture | The Pilgrimage Destination for Gundam Enthusiasts, Check in at the Gundam Unicorn in Odaiba!
❤ Mobile Suit Gundam is a top-notch anime work in Japan, and The Gundam Base Tokyo located in Odaiba is the holy land for Gundam fans! In front of the DiverCity gate stands a movable and transformable, super luxurious model of the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn series, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam.
🌟 The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam statue, which has been standing since September 24, 2017, replaced the previous generation RX-78-2 Gundam model. It is a landmark building in Odaiba, and with the new replacing the old, the height of the Gundam has increased to 19.7 meters, and its mobility surpasses that of its predecessor.
👍 The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam has added new features, allowing it to switch between Unicorn mode and Destroyer mode. In Unicorn mode, it has a protective face and a large horn. After 10 seconds, when it switches to Destroyer mode, the large horn splits into twin spikes, the mask opens, and the entire face is revealed. The two modes switch multiple times throughout the day, offering a spectacular sight that continuously wows the audience with cheers and exclamations!
✅ The performances are held four times a day, divided into morning and afternoon sessions at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM. The last session initiates the night light mode, with visual effects lasting into the late night. Accompanied by various Gundam theme songs played every half hour, anime clips are projected onto the exterior walls of DiverCity, and the Gundam continues to switch between the two modes.
📍 Location: South side of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo.
🚉 Access: It is about a 10-minute walk from either the Odaiba Station, the Museum of Maritime Science Station, or the Aomi Station.

Odaiba is a place I wanted to go every time I came to Tokyo, but I never made it. This time, the last stop before leaving Japan was arranged here

✔️Statue of Liberty
This Statue of Liberty can be said to be a landmark of Odaiba. It is smaller than the famous Statue of Liberty in New York. The scenery of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Bay behind it at sunset is still very beautiful
✔️Gundam
What initially attracted me to Odaiba was this 1:1 restored Gundam, located in front of Diver City, about 5 or 6 stories high, and it is spectacular when viewed up close
✔️Doraemon Future Department Store
Located on the second floor of Diver City, in addition to a wealth of Doraemon peripheral products, there is also an interactive experience area where you can experience the props in Doraemon, with more children participating
✔️Hello Kitty Theme Store
Also located on the second floor of Diver City, the surroundings are very rich, full of girl's heart
✔️Conan Pop-up Store
On the 3rd floor of Aqua City, it seems to be until 8.27, I hurriedly visited

⭕️Fuji TV station is also nearby, it is a pity that I didn't make it because of the tight time this time

If you like to watch Japanese TV dramas, then you must know the Odaiba in Tokyo. It is really the favorite spot for Japanese TV dramas, the sea, the beach, the Rainbow Bridge, and the Tokyo Bay in the distance. Whether it is clear skies or nightfall, Taiwan The beauty of the field is fascinating.
The night scene of Odaiba is super-powerful, and the AQUA Mall looks at the Rainbow Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, and you can feel the romantic atmosphere everywhere. The
night scene is shocking because there are heart-shaped lights everywhere.
In the AQUA mall, I chose a restaurant with a window to see the night view for dinner. I sat in the dining room next to the large floor-to-ceiling windows, and I can clearly enjoy the intoxicating night scenery on the side of the Rainbow Bridge in Odaiba.
Rainbow Bridge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Odaiba’s Rainbow Bridge
Odaiba’s Rainbow Bridge is one of the most popular attractions in Tokyo, just like any magnificent bridges in the world. Odaiba is a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay, across the Rainbow Bridge from central Tokyo. We were so lucky that day because there was a light show performed there. The colours keep changing with the movement of waters and music. There were some Olympic medalists being shown in the light show. Surprisingly there wasn’t a big crowd that day. Along the way you could also see the Odaiba Statue of Liberty. Great for taking photos. This is a very beautiful place in the evening for sunset view, and nighttime to see the changing rainbow colour of the bridge. Please note that you are not allowed to cycle across the bridge. The Rainbow Bridge is within 5 minutes walking distance from the train station. Along the way there are shopping malls and restaurants.
