Okinawa Southeast Botanical Garden | Embark on a fairy-tale adventure in a verdant wonderland
📍Detailed Address: The Southeast Botanical Gardens are located in the southeastern area of Chatan Town in the central part of Okinawa's main island. The botanical garden is divided into a northern and a southern section. The content of this travelogue introduces the northern section—the 'Paradise' of plants, which, in addition to plants, also features birds, small animals, and a light show. The southern section is a pure botanical garden area.
🚉Transportation Strategy: It is recommended to charter a car or drive on your own in advance. The location of the botanical garden is relatively remote, and it is easy to take a taxi from the city, but there is a high possibility that you may not find a return ride (i.e., no taxi back to the city after leaving the garden). Chartering a car requires advance reservation.
🗓Itinerary Planning: We arranged a day to charter a car to visit the attractions around Chatan Town. The itinerary was: Ryukyu Village → Zanpa Cape → Lunch → Kadena Air Base → Southeast Botanical Garden.
🕙Business Hours: 9:30 to 22:00 (entry stops at 21:30).
🎫Ticket Price: Adults 70 yuan, Children 28 yuan.
⏳Play Time: 2~3 hours.
🌟Highlights:
Light show. From November to April each year, the lights turn on promptly at 17:00 every day. Trees, ponds, and buildings are all equipped with light strips and other facilities. When the lights are on, the park completely transforms into another scene. It's stunningly beautiful, like a fairy-tale world.
Free-roaming birds: The botanical garden's environment is one of harmonious coexistence between humans and animals. Cranes, geese, and ducks are all free-roaming, and can be seen everywhere in the park during your visit.
👍Most Recommended:
Small Animal Area: In the central area of the park, there are capybaras, land turtles, rabbits, and other small animals. Each type of animal has its own little garden, where visitors can feed and touch them from zero distance. There are vegetable packs for purchase by voluntary donation in the garden, with each bag containing several large leaves.
Aviary: This is an area for various rare bird species, also allowing zero-distance contact.
Shop: The entrance and exit of the park are at the same location, with a shop near the entrance. The shop sells souvenirs, drinks, and light meals.
📝Note tips: The feeding time allowed in the park is until 16:30 (rabbits, squirrel monkeys), 17:00 (capybaras). If you want to see everything, be sure to plan the order and timing well.
👎Least Recommended: The park's sightseeing car. There is a paid sightseeing car in the park, but it is recommended not to take it, as the area of the park is not super large, and walking is completely OK.
❤Recommended Reason: The Southeast Botanical Garden is Japan's first botanical garden and also one of Okinawa's heavyweight attractions. It can truly be said to be a destination suitable for all ages. Children can learn about the diversity of plants and feed small animals. Traveling together, you can easily take photos that capture the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature. It is recommended to enter the park at 16:00, so you can first see the small animals and the daytime scenery, and then enjoy the night scenery and light show as it gets dark after 17:00. In this way, you will experience both the daytime and nighttime views.

Cape Zanpa
#okinawatrip This was a beautiful stop to explore. We did not go up to the top of the lighthouse (which requires a ticket purchase, but need not be done in advance of arrival), but explored the surrounding area. The views were great, and the rock faces were impressive. This also appeared to be a popular spot for local fishing. The dynamic was very family friendly, and relaxing.

⛩Japan | Okinawa 🌟Zanpa Cape
For those who love the sea, they will not miss any excellent place to appreciate the sea view. Okinawa has such a free attraction: Cape Zanpa. There stands a white tower, overlooking the turbulent waves of the sea, with a breathtaking beauty. Admission to the area is free, but the ticket fee to climb to the top of the tower is not cheap.
When it comes to Cape Zanpa, the most famous thing is this white lighthouse. It is said to be one of the top ten famous lighthouses in Japan. The person who stands in contrast to the lighthouse is called Tai-ki, who is a businessman in simpler terms. He was particularly good at business and had been to China five times during the Ryukyu Kingdom period. It was very dangerous to travel to China by boat at that time, so the locals admired his courage very much. Therefore, the locals built a statue pointing in the direction of China - the Tai-ki statue, to commemorate this merchant's god. Now this statue has become a landmark attraction of Cape Zanpa.

The white lighthouse of the remnant wave often appears in film and television shooting. In the "Love Okinawa", Leslie Cheung and the underworld boss are trading here. The remnant wave is the closest place to Okinawa's main island in China. At the end of the corner is a white lighthouse, silently lonely in the blue water. The coral reefs that rise more than 30 meters form a two-kilometer-long cliff. The sea water is slap on the rock wall and white water is rushing. Around the Remnant Lighthouse, it is designated as the Okinawa Coast National Park, and facilities such as promenades, plazas, and beaches are built. The famous diving site of Okinawa is also nearby. There is a 30m high cliff that extends about 2km long and presents a vast and majestic landscape.
Remnant waves When the weather is good, the photos are still very small and fresh, and may even remind people of Kenting's Eluanbi Park. But this is a cloudy day. . . At the moment of regret, Suyi pointed to the distance and shouted: Lighthouse! It turned out that she remembered the high-frequency lighthouse and the coast in the picture book "Sit in XX Travel", thinking that she could see the lighthouse in the book with her own eyes, and it was worth it.
Not far from the car, you can see a bronze statue of the Thai period. The Thai period was born in the village of Yomitan in Okinawa, which is now near the Remnant. Before the reunification, Ryukyu was divided into three kingdoms: Nanshan, Zhongshan and Beishan. In 1372, the King of Zhongshan, who ruled in the valley of Reading Valley, instructed the Thai kingdom to represent China (Ming Dynasty). It was the first tribute to the tributary in the history of Ryukyu. Thus opened the prelude to the era of Ryukyu maritime trade. The trade made the kingdom of Zhongshan strong, and finally unified the Ryukyu. The Thai period itself has excellent business skills and an international trade concept, so it is also known as the "God of Business" in Okinawa. The bronze statue of the Thai period in Zambo is the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Yomitan-mura Trade Union in 2008 and the 100th anniversary of the village of Yomitan. It was established by the Yomitan-mura Business Union to commemorate this courage, mission and leadership. And pray that the business of Reading Valley Village will flourish, and the rich and savory meanings the direction of the Thai period to the direction of Fujian, China.
On the day of the remnant, the wind raged, and the weather seemed to be the last struggle before the rainstorm. We circulated around the lighthouse, and the sudden cooling made us have no courage to climb the tower. The scene in front of people is reminiscent of the sentence: the yin wind anger, the turbid wave emptying; the sun star concealed, the mountain potential shape... such a remnant wave in the weather, another kind of nature is desolate and empty.

In the invincible beautiful seascape of the Zaopo Park, I and the babies did not go to the beach
in the park to see a variety of green plants, feel the summer of the green summer
Make the baby and the ducks fun, and the simple route is super fun! The locals also love the park where children are taken.

The white lighthouse of the remnant wave often appears in film and television shooting. In the "Love Okinawa", Leslie Cheung and the underworld boss are trading here. Although the attractions are very famous, the traffic is not convenient. It takes half an hour to walk from the nearest bus stop. If there is no chartered bus, it is worth considering whether it is worth a look at the white lighthouse. The hh/residue wave is at the northwestern end of the ancient village. It is the closest place to the Okinawa island to China. At the end of the corner is a white lighthouse. In the blue water, it is silently lonely. The coral reefs that rise more than 30 meters form a two-kilometer-long cliff. The sea water is slap on the rock wall, and the white water is rushing. Standing on the cliff, the wind feels like the wind, and there is an impulse to jump. There are also walks, plazas, beaches and other facilities around the
residues. Okinawas famous diving site, Shin-Yin, is also nearby. The diving spot, the Blue Cave, is a natural sea cave, with sunshine from the narrow The cave entrance penetrates the sea and illuminates the sea floor, making the cave full of blue light. There are only two such "blue holes" in the world, one in Saipan and the other in Okinawa. It is a pity that no matter how many letters I have written to the travel agency, I have shown my good water and snorkeling experience, as well as the current stable physical condition. There is still no travel agency that allows pregnant women to participate in the blue hole snorkeling. Its so sad~ This little regret can only be reserved for the next trip to Okinawa.
