The Most Beautiful Temple in Korea
This is our First Family Trip to South Korea - Busan
We planned to visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple for half a day and end up taking bit longer than we initially planned for as the scenery and view is breath taking. A very scenic and beautiful place.
Definitely worth to visit and don’t forget to try the Cheese and Honey pancake at the shop at the front. They also sells Potato Tornado / Twister and Marshmallow Ice Cream. #haedongyonggungsa

🛕 Haedong Yonggungsa Temple @ Busan
Another not to be missed spot when you're at Busan, Korea is the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple! It's a rare temple - as it's located right by the sea, and it offers quite a stunning coastal view as well!
Surrounded by the clear blue waters and lush greeneries, you can be sure you'll find healing at this place.
The temple features 108 stair steps and it represents human desires. It also has a lot of Buddhist statues and sculptures - we found one for "getting a male child" and "passing exam with flying colors"!
Rating (out of 5):
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Most beautiful temple in Korea!❤️
This is Haedong Yonggungsa Temple called to be the most beautiful temple in Korea.
It is located at the ocean in Busan City.
Just before the entrance there are many cafes and shops. Then as you enter the temple you start to see its beautiful architecture. There are many different kinds of flowers here and the whole roof is decorated with some colored hexagonal shaped structures.
You will see the statue of Buddha in the main temple and also the statue of laughing Buddha on the side.
If you will climb up the stairs, you will see the staute of wisdom goddess as well.
Then there is a small cave as well inside.
Hydrangea in different colors like white, blue, pink etc blossom there during the months of June and July.
You can also see a beautiful view of the ocean from there.
We ate a melon based ice cream as well which was quite popular in that area and this cafe was right at the temple only. That ice cream was a must try!
Overall very peaceful and serene environment and the temple has a very beautiful architecture!

After our quick lunch in Busan, off we go to Haedong Yonggunsa Buddhist Temple. Travel distance from Gamcheon Culture Village to these Buddhist Temple is around 22 km. Fortunately, there is no entrance fee here. Open daily from 5.00 am - 7.00 pm. It is a beautiful attraction sits along the coastal area of Gijang-gun.
Attractions here are the Daeungjeon Main Hall, Eight - storey Pagoda, Golden Laughing Buddha and Golden Turtle, Little Buddha, Stupas Chinese Zodiac Animal Statues and 108 stairs and bridge and wishing pond. Very precious to honour and bathing ceremony of Little Buddha. Point to take note, during bathing the Little Buddha, just cleanse with holy water from his shoulder onward, not from head top.
So, aside from seeing the unique religious sites, you will probably love the scenic surrounding because of it coastal section.
The most beautiful temple in Korea!
“The most beautiful temple in Korea”… I’m not saying this myself but it is written right on the wall here at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan. Although I have not visited every temple in Korea yet, I kinda agree that this temple is a second to none. Not only the temple itself that is beautiful, the area is also breathtaking. You can see from the pictures that the temple is located right on the cliff where you can enjoy the beautiful sea of Busan. If you can choose, it may be good to avoid weekends and public holidays as it can get much crowded.#Haedongyonggungsa #temple #busan #korea
Busan’s Temple by the Sea
#tripblazers #busan #southkorea
Haedong Yonggunsa Temple is one of the most picturesque temples in South Korea. Not only is it a prime spot for watching the sunrise, but also it’s location also hosts beautiful views of the sea. Dedicated to the goddess of compassion, you can see a huge statue of her on the cliff. To get to the actual temple there is a little walk through a narrow path, so make sure you bring plenty of water if you visit in the summer!
Temple built by buddhist teacher Naong
Since it is located by the sea, the magnificent sea view and the waves add a more fascinating atmosphere to this temple. If you are in love with the traditional architecture of Korea like me, I would definitely recommend adding it to your Busan travel list.
If you are going to visit such historical temples in Korea, you should know that it will not be easy to reach these temples. So remember that you need a lot of time and strength to visit temples in Korea.🥱
I would like to trip all over the Korea as much as possible 🙏🏽I don’t always need a plan , wanna just go …

BUSAN✨
Haedong Yonggung Temple is a Buddhist temple in Busan. The temple is popular with sightseers along the beautiful shoreline. It is the one of the most beautiful temple I have ever seen. In the winter is very chilly but still there are many people going there. We get there by taxi from Haeundae beach. I think it’s easiest way and the price not too bad. #awesomepic #wintergetaway #beachlife #korea #passionpassport

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a Buddhist temple located in 86 Yonggung-gil, Gijang-gun, Busan, South Korea. The temple was built during the Goryeo Dynasty in 1376 and was known as Bomun Temple.
It was destroyed during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–98) but was rebuilt in the 1930s, and was renamed Haedong Yonggung Temple in 1974. The temple complex is a large one and one of few in Korea to be set on the seaside. As such, combined with its proximity to Haeundae Beach and the east side of Busan, the temple is popular with sightseers, particularly during Buddha's Birthday celebrations when the complex is decorated with paper lanterns.

Busan City Day Tour: Take a capsule train to view Haeundae from a distance
My understanding of Busan
started with the capsule train
Because of a picture, I flew over 2300 kilometers just to check in
Today, I will introduce my Busan capsule train day tour guide in detail🔎
🚉Day Tour Itinerary
Cheongsapo Marine Skywalk - Capsule Train (Cheongsapo to Oe Pohang, i.e., Haeundae) - APEC Nurimaru APEC House - Distant view of Haeundae - Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.
Cheongsapo Marine Skywalk🗼
Before taking the capsule train, you can visit the Cheongsapo Marine Skywalk to enjoy the seascape. 🆓Admission, it's on the left side of the train, about a 15-minute walk away. The skywalk was abandoned halfway through construction, but it is still open for visitors. Shoes and socks are required to enter the bridge. You can admire the scenery of reefs, lighthouses, and haenyeo (female divers).
Capsule Train🚞
We took the train from Cheongsapo to Oe Pohang, which is Haeundae, and the journey took about 20 minutes. The views in order are the ocean, forest, and cityscape. There are options for 2, 3, or 4 people, each with different prices, and tickets can be purchased online in advance! It is recommended to visit after 4 pm to enjoy the sunset over the ocean and the city forest.
APEC Nurimaru APEC House🏙
Built to commemorate the successful hosting of the APEC meeting, the APEC Memorial Hall has three floors. The first floor is an outdoor courtyard🏡, the second floor is a high-end banquet hall, and the third floor allows entry into the Nurimaru APEC House. You can witness the scene of the APEC meeting from that year.
Distant view of Haeundae🌁
When traveling to Busan, Haeundae is a must-visit. From the APEC Nurimaru APEC House, you can view Haeundae from a distance, with the Haeundae sea-crossing bridge shrouded in mist. The place has its own unique charm with the sea, clouds, and bridge. There are relatively few people who come here to watch~
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple🛕
It is a temple built by the sea. It is one of the three major sacred places of Guanyin in the hearts of Koreans (Xiangyang Luoshan Temple, South Sea Bodhi Hermitage, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple). The temple wonderfully combines the sea, dragons, and Guanyin, making it very efficacious. Built in 1376, it has a history of over 600 years and is the southernmost temple in Korea.
Travel tips:
1️⃣The capsule train needs to be booked in advance
2️⃣The weather in Busan during March and April is quite unpredictable, remember to bring rain gear

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan, Korea
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is located on the east coast of Busan and is the only temple in Korea situated by the sea, with very beautiful surrounding scenery. The temple was founded by the great master Naong during the reign of King Goryeo U in 1376, and its location by the mountains and the sea gives it an elegant yet unique appearance. It features the Sea Water Guanyin, Daeungjeon Hall, Dragon King Hall, Grotto Law Hall, and a three-story stone pagoda with four lions.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is located on the east coast of Busan, and is the only temple in Korea situated by the sea, with very beautiful surrounding scenery. The temple was founded by the great master Naong during the reign of King Goryeo U in 1376, nestled against the mountains and overlooking the sea, and features the Sea Water Guanyin, Daeungjeon Hall, Dragon King Hall, Grotto Law Hall, and a three-story stone pagoda with four lions. The Daeungjeon Hall was rebuilt in 1970, with its exterior coated in dancheong, and has witnessed the vicissitudes of history over the years.
To the right of the Daeungjeon Hall is the uniquely styled Grotto Law Hall, and in front is the three-story stone pagoda with four lions. Each level of the pagoda has four lions representing happiness, anger, sorrow, and joy, hence it is called 'Four Lions.' The most special scenery of Yonggungsa Temple is the 108 steps and the Sunrise Rock. One must descend 108 steps from the entrance of Yonggungsa Temple to reach the temple, and the Sunrise Rock is located in the middle of these steps. Standing on the rock, one can hear the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs and admire the spectacular view of the sunrise. At every New Year, many people come here to make wishes facing the sunrise. During the lunar April, cherry blossoms bloom profusely at the entrance of Yonggungsa Temple. On Buddha's birthday, the temple is decorated with lights, presenting a fantastically beautiful nightscape.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan
I don't know where Haedong Yonggungsa Temple ranks in the popularity of Busan's attractions, but the local Koreans I asked (I asked about public transportation) all said there are many foreign tourists there - probably because I went there on a Saturday, there were foreign tourists, but the small temple was crowded mainly with Korean domestic tourists. This also proves that the number of Buddhist believers in Korea is definitely not less than five per thousand as some materials say, I feel that the claim that 16% of the population are Buddhist believers is more reliable.
This temple is competing for business with Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, China and the Guanyin statue in Sanya, because it says this is the South Sea Dojo of Guanyin - according to the Korean map, this is indeed the south; according to the world map, this is the Sea of Japan - but Putuo Mountain is the East Sea, and the South Sea in Sanya is the South China Sea, neither of which is the South Sea in the minds of Indians when they talk about Guanyin Bodhisattva, so, let each family say, don't take it seriously.
Among these temples, not to mention the cultural heritage, just in terms of the natural environment, the sea facing Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is the most beautiful, with clear blue water and steep rocks, which can be described as refreshing.

Prettiest temple by the sea 🌊
#wecreate
Hi everyone, today I want to share with you my amazing visit to the Hae Dong Yong Gung Temple, a beautiful and unique temple in Busan, Korea. I visited last October.
The Hae Dong Yong Gung Temple is located on the coast of the East Sea, in the Gijang District. It’s one of the few temples in Korea that is by the sea. It was built in 1376 and is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy.
To get there, I took a bus from Haeundae Station and got off at Yonggungsa Temple Bus Stop. The bus ride took about 30 minutes and cost 1,300 won.
When I arrived at the temple, I had a coffee at a cafe near the entrance. The coffee was good and the cafe had a nice view of the sea.
Then I walked to the temple, which was about 10 minutes away. The walk was pleasant and scenic, with many statues and lanterns along the way.
The temple was stunning, with colorful buildings and decorations. The temple was also surrounded by the sea and the rocks, creating a contrast between the natural and the artificial.
I explored the temple and saw many interesting things, such as a golden Buddha statue, a dragon fountain, a wishing well, and a pagoda. I also enjoyed the sea view and the breeze.
The Hae Dong Yong Gung Temple is a wonderful place to visit for anyone who loves culture and nature. It’s a place where you can feel the spirituality and the beauty of Korea.

South Korea 🇰🇷 | Must-visit attractions in Busan, read this article! ‼️
The cherry blossom season 🌸 is coming soon~ Let me share some must-visit attractions in Busan.
⛩️Baiqiantan Cultural Village
The village is formed by more than ten small roads intersecting with each other. The relatively closed village has almost completely preserved the appearance of Busan in the 1970s. The vast sea view, white walls, and unique murals have earned Haeundae Village the reputation of "Santorini of Busan". The sea view cafes and bookstores also attract many tourists.
⛩️Haidong Longgong Temple
Located on the seaside rock formations, as one of the few seaside temples, it is well-known in Korea. Along the road to the temple, there are many street vendors, souvenir shops, and more, extending all the way to the entrance of the temple, bustling with activity. Take a look at the items on the roadside stalls, and slowly walk down the gentle slope to the entrance of the Dragon Palace Temple, where two magnificent golden dragons welcome visitors.
⛩️Changsheng Puyu Fish Culture Village
Here, the past appearance of the Changshengpu whaling village is reproduced. Visitors can view a series of theme parks such as the Whale Square, the Old Village of Changshengpu, the Prehistoric Whale Square, the Whale Sculpture Park, and the Aquatic Plant Garden. Jagalchi Market is the largest seafood market in Busan, supplying 30% to 40% of the seafood in South Korea. Haeundae is the first seawater beach in Korea, surrounded by unique natural landscapes and therefore attracting much attention.
⛩️Ganchuan Cultural Village
Along the orderly staircase-style collective housing at the foot of the mountain, and the maze-like alleys that lead in all directions, a unique landscape is formed in the Gan River Cultural Village. Busan Haeundae is a very popular tourist destination.
⛩️Haiyuntai Blue Line Park
Build a sky cabin sightseeing train that runs in the air, allowing passengers to leisurely enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sea and sky, creating a comfortable atmosphere and becoming the most popular attraction nowadays.
⛩️Yishan Film Festival Starlight Square + Guang'an Bridge + Guang'an Village
The Busan International Film Festival is now well-known both at home and abroad. In English, it is called the "Busan International Film Festival". Therefore, the "BIFF Square" in Jinshan International Film Festival and the landmark of Guang'an Bridge are also known as one of the representative beaches in Busan, the Guang'anli Beach. It is not only the closest beach to the city center, but also a holy place for young people in Busan.
