Tokyo's largest and oldest museum. For those who are interested in Japanese history, this will be a fascinating place to visit.
Third stop: Shopping Paradise
Ginza: Known as one of the three bustling centers of the world, it has nurtured many century-old shops and local brands, and is a paradise for shopping spree.

Every year, millions of people come to worship, and it is also an important representative of Japanese Shinto culture. Meiji Jingu Shrine
To reach the shrine you’ll have to walk 10 minutes through the park, which is a lovely shaded stroll. There’s also colourful sake barrels that are a popular place to stop for photos.
If you visit on a weekend you’ll likely find local families with their kids dressed in kimonos taking photos. We were also lucky to see a bridal procession entering the shrine for a traditional shinto wedding.
In autumn there is also a chrysanthemum festival with lots of flowers displayed throughout the park as you approach the shrine. Some of these chrysanthemums are huge and well worth a stop to admire.
This shrine is right next to the Harajuku train station, so I recommend spending a day in the area to explore Meiji Jingu shrine, walk through Yoyogi Park and the streets of Harajuku and Omotesando to do some shopping and dinning. You really could spend the whole day here and the forested areas by the shrine are a welcome escape from the city.

Japan Travels: Visiting Meiji Jingu, Shibuya
One of the most beautiful and popular shrine in Tokyo and a must-go spot when travelling to Japan. We visited Meiji Jingu in the late afternoon where the sky is slowly getting dark and the air is cool for us to take a stroll. The entrance feels sacred and feels like it’s an entrance to a whole new world, the walk to the shrine deep within took us 10min walk because we have to past through a long road of trees surrounding the path, it’s very zen and magical experiences.
We past through a wall decorated of barrels in Japanese wordings and we entered the shrine, it’s huge and spacious. We spent more around 45 minutes inside to wander around and enjoy the temple scenery. We did a small offering tell to make a wish, determining our prophecy by shaking the Buddhist stick container, it’s a truly a new experiences for us both. We sat at a corner and enjoy the view and the painting with words on the large scrolls.
We truly recommend tourist to visit this beautiful shrine and spend a magical experience that only can be found in Japan.

The spacious Shrine grounds offer walking paths for a relaxing stroll.
The main complex of the Shrine buildings is located from a 10 minute walk from both the southern entrance near Harajuku Station and the northern entrance near Yoyogi Station. The entry into the Shrine grounds is marked by a massive torii gate, then the sights and sounds of the busy city are replaced by a tranquil forest. Is a good form of walking exercise after meal. Meiji jinju shrine in Japan 🇯🇵
Meiji Shrine (明治神宮, Meiji Jingū) is a shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken. Located just beside the JR Yamanote Line's busy Harajuku Station, Meiji Shrine and the adjacent Yoyogi Park make up a large forested area within the densely built-up city. The spacious shrine grounds offer walking paths that are great for a relaxing stroll.
It’s free entrance and everyone entering must be respectful to the architecture and forest. You’ll need between 1-3 hours to visit. Inside there are places to worship or you can purchase a poem written by the emperor. It was a lovely stroll and I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in Tokyo. #urbanexplorer #forest #shrine #japan #tripblazers #hikingtrails

Fall & Meiji Jingu
#fallingforfall - When Japan reopened its borders I just had to fly to Tokyo for my first ever trip there!
Visited the famous Meiji Jingu which was super beautiful and filled with greens - but little do you know that the trees 🌳 were ALL donated from other provinces and it’s not a natural forest 🌳!
The shrine itself was very beautiful and peaceful too and the walk was a good 10-15 minutes but in the fall weather, it’s more cooling and comfortable :)
Located just at the exit of Harajuku station, it’s super accessible to travel there and visit the shrine.
be sure to only enter the shrine from the sides and bow towards the entrance before you leave!

Meiji Shrine, as what the name suggests, is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his noble consort, Empress Shoken. Just like Asakusa Temple and Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Shrine is also a very popular tourist attraction in Tokyo. It is located in Shibuya, Tokyo. Been there on a weekend, and it was terribly crowded.
#wintergetaway
The Meiji Jingu Shrine is a must see on any tour to Tokyo. Beautiful well kept grounds and a very peaceful and serene spot to be quiet and take in the amazing architecture. A shrine built by the emperor, it has all the hallmarks of royalty. We happened to be there on a wedding day of a traditional Japanese bride. Even though we did not see the ceremony, we were able to witness her in her traditional attire being escorted to the shrine and other important spots to pay homage to the deities. The gardens itself would be worth the visit, the leafed trees were stunning and provided cover from the rain. After an entry gate you are in ancient forest, walking on a wide pathway towards a shrine. Total opposite for hustle and bustle in Shibuya streets.

A lovely Shinto shrine which I throughly enjoyed visiting. Conveniently located and luckily when I visited I saw few weddings taking place which was an added attraction. One should definitely include it in ones itenary when visiting Tokyo.

The Meiji Shrine, dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and the Empress Dowager, is the most important shrine in Shinto, Japan, and has the largest green space in Tokyo. The
Meiji Jingu Shrine consists of the largest bird house in Japan, the "Leng"-shaped Daejeon, the Great Hall, and the Treasure Hall. All of them are paved with pebbles for evil. A huge wooden bird house can be seen at the entrance. The large torii towering at the junction of the North and South ginseng, 12 meters high
The crowds are not crowded, and they line up to the front to make a wish to throw coins and blend in to feel the New Year atmosphere. Suddenly there was a teenager who threw out the coin and shouted loudly: "Love must be successful!!" Then he ran away, and his friends laughed and spread out. This feeling of youth is really a Japanese drama! Forever good, always hope, travel to teach me, not just these.
The shrine where the Emperor Meiji and the Empress Dowager Sakura performed sacrifices. With an area of 700,000 square meters, the shrine collects 100,000 trees from the country and grows into a lush forest. Visitors can enjoy the natural scenery of the four seasons. Every 1-3 days of the New Year's Eve, the number of people who come to visit this shrine is countless.
address 1-1
The monuments in Tokyo may not be counted as historic sites. Even the shrines are just a few doors and torii. There are no huge architectural systems like the palaces and Chinese temples. Its as if I went to Shinjuku. Seeing the big mall is a lively street. The Shrine is located in the center of Tokyo, covering an area of 70 hectares. It is adjacent to the Shinjuku business district and occupies the entire strip from Yoyogi to Harajuku. It is the largest piece of green space in downtown Tokyo. In the past, there was only Yuyuan, (the name sounded good, but it was closed). In 1915, the Meiji Shrine began construction. About 30,000 species of trees were donated in various places, and about 110,000 young volunteers participated in planting trees, and the existing generations of wood forests were built.
At the beginning, in order to achieve the goal of forming a natural forest after a hundred years, the scholars at that time started discussions on planting trees, and finally abandoned the common cedar and eucalyptus schemes of Ise Jingu according to the climatic and environmental conditions in Tokyo. A plan based on evergreen broad-leaved trees such as vertebral trees and oak trees was adopted.
The existing Big Bird House (Second Bird House) was built in the year of Showa 51 (1967). It is located at the junction of the North and South ginseng. It is 12 meters high and 17 meters wide. The column diameter is 1.2 meters and weighs 13 tons. It is Japan. The largest wooden god bird house. At the end of Nanshen Road there is a row of wine barrels: the left column is a Western wine barrel, and the right column is a Japanese sake barrel.

Meiji Jingu
#cherryblossom2024 Meiji Jingu
One of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm visiting Tokyo. A great way to get away from it all, although the number of people and tourists seem to increase every time I come here. The Meiji Jingu is really huge, and more like a park than a temple, with a walk from any entrance requiring at least 10 minutes to get to the temple proper. But that is part of the mystique and beauty of it, with the very large and very old trees offering a covered and serene view, and the Japanese crows calling to each other in the distance or possibly right overhead.
Once at the temple, follow the posted instructions to keep quiet and respectful. Also, as taken from JAL's website: "When entering the grounds of a temple, it’s important not to step directly on the threshold of the main gate. Women should enter with their right foot first, while men enter with their left—a practice that only a few people remember." "If you wish to pray in the main hall of the temple, throw a few coins into the offering box. There is no suggested amount or specific lucky coin to consider. There is also no need to clap before you pray. Simply bow at a slight angle (some suggest 45 degrees as the ideal angle), put your hands together, and offer up your prayers. Bow once more when leaving the main hall and also as you exit the temple grounds."
A visit is highly recommended, just be respectful when you do.

Tokyo Hotel Guide, make friends with a slow pace
❤️❤️Visit Tokyo once, and you'll want to go to the hotel a second time.
🥳🥳Just back from Tokyo, it's really the top choice for international travel friends, Tokyo is so suitable for fun, because it's abroad, the language is inconvenient, so I made a lot of strategies with friends in advance, especially about where to stay, the choice of hotel really didn't disappoint.
.💙💙Address: 340 meters walking distance from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
.😘😘Excellent location️ (Convenience of transportation is the first priority when traveling abroad)
The hotel is opposite the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, very close to the bustling South Shinjuku, and has a superior geographical location. It is a large hotel suitable for sightseeing and business.
🌸🌸The greatest advantage of the hotel️ is its proximity to Shinjuku Station, where you can buy tickets directly to Tokyo Disneyland and surrounding prefectures at the station. Families familiar with Japan should know that taxis in Tokyo are too expensive, it's staggering.
🌼🌼There is a shuttle bus from the Tochomae Station on the Oedo Subway Line to the airport (from 8 am to 8 pm walking to Shinjuku Train Station and JR Shinjuku Station)
The hotel has a convenience store and restaurant on the first floor, which makes eating very convenient.
🥳🥳🥳.The service attitude is also super good.
Due to the language barrier, the front desk is very patient. If you ask about nearby food, drinks, and entertainment, they will also carefully recommend the Shinjuku Sanchome Shopping Street near the hotel. Shopping and playing are very convenient → the front desk guy told me this.
.🍉🍉🍉Delicious food near the hotel's attractions
Close to Shinjuku, Hong Kong Roppongi Omote
Modern Wood Park Weddings, Waseda University Nursery, Meiji Shrine Open, Roppongi Sculpture, Shinjuku Station Blood, Shinjuku New, Shibuya...
Food: There are many delicious foods around the hotel. The hotel restaurant serves tempura with crispy outside and tender inside shrimp, plump meat, and Kurobuta pork tomahawk barbecue🥩
.❤️❤️❤️Room facilities The hotel rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a desk, heating, a shower, a bathtub, a hairdryer, a bathroom, slippers, pay TV, a radio, a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator, etc.️
.✈️✈️✈️Little tips️️️
️Summer is the peak season in Tokyo, it is recommended to book the hotel earlier
️When booking a hotel, you can look at several platforms, it's wise to compare prices
️The hotel can handle check-in procedures: 14:00~02:00 the next day, and the time to deal with leaving the store is before 11:00, be sure to pay attention to the store's arrival and check-out time🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
【Summer Green in Tokyo】Walking from Meiji Shrine to Yoyogi Park, a boundless canopy of greenery pours down a cool essence
Although the temperature is already 37℃ above our heads,
but once you enter under the grand torii gate of Meiji Shrine,
what towers above and below
is a thick, undissolving shade of green...
Groups of tourists pass by,
stepping on the 'creak creak' of the native stone path.
There's a breeze that flows through, and kimono-clad women pass by gracefully.
The previous sweating like rain, surprisingly begins to slowly subside~
Twenty minutes to cross, at the end of the road,
the outer walls of JR Harajuku Station are covered with vines, quaint like a café.
The birthplace of the trendy Harajuku style---
enticing crowds from all over the world to follow...
Turn right again for ten meters, and you find the open Yoyogi Park.
The 150-year-old park still boasts lush trees and abundant flowers...
Tokyo's last jacarandas may have faded,
but the full and light green is the main tone of summer coolness~
Japan Travel—Places Worth Visiting
As long as there is a destination, there is no place that cannot be reached. Before going anywhere, it's essential to understand what kind of place it is. Some places might be visited only once in a lifetime, never to return. That makes it all the more important to do your homework in advance, making sure not to miss the highlights and experiences that are worth seeing, so the trip is not in vain. Below are some popular destinations in Japan that are worth visiting overall.
Meiji Shrine
Located in Yoyogi, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, the environment is serene and the air is fresh. It enshrines Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Within the shrine, there is a pair of married camphor trees, connected by a shimenawa rope, where many couples and spouses visit, hoping to have a good and deep relationship like Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken.
Exiting the shrine, nearby is Harajuku, bustling with shops, various trendy brands, especially many outdoor sports stores. It's within walking distance to Shibuya.
Senso-ji Temple
Located in Taito Ward, Tokyo, it is the oldest temple in Tokyo. It was designated as the Tokugawa shogunate's pilgrimage site by Tokugawa Ieyasu. The area around is very lively and bustling, with the temple housing the Kaminarimon gate, a five-story pagoda, the main hall, and the traditional Nakamise shopping street with its Edo-style shops and snack bars.
The temple complements its surroundings, offering fortune-telling, worship, shopping, photography, eating, drinking, and entertainment in one place. It is close to the subway station and is very popular with tourists.
Daigo-ji Temple
A World Heritage site, located in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, a bit far from the city center. The environment is tranquil, away from the mundane world. The temple has over 1,000 cherry trees that are more than a hundred years old, attracting crowds of visitors every spring cherry blossom season.
It has been a famous cherry blossom viewing spot since the Heian period. In autumn, the maple leaves in the Unryu-in Garden are stunningly beautiful. The temple houses a large collection of precious cultural assets such as Buddhist sculptures, paintings, and esoteric Buddhist ritual implements.
The temple's five-story pagoda is the oldest wooden structure in Kyoto. The Sanboin, designed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of the three great unifiers of Japan, is a Momoyama period shoin-style building, exquisite and gorgeous.
Sanjusangendo
Located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, on Shichijo, the main building is 120 meters long and is Japan's longest hall. It is called Sanjusangendo because the hall is divided into 33 bays by 34 pillars.
In the center of the hall is enshrined a large wooden statue of the Thousand-Armed Kannon, about 3.3 meters tall, flanked by 500 golden Kannon statues, each about 1.7 meters tall. The 1,001st Kannon statue is located behind the giant Buddha in the center of the hall. In front of the Kannon statues are 28 wooden statues of guardian deities, including the gods of wind and thunder.
Every year, the traditional Toshiya archery festival, also known as 'New Year's Archery,' is held at Sanjusangendo.
Kiyomizu-dera
A World Heritage site, located on Mount Otowa in Kyoto, it is the oldest temple in Kyoto. The temple enshrines the Eleven-Faced Thousand-Armed Kannon. Major buildings include the Nio-mon gate, a three-story pagoda, and the main hall. Inside the main hall is the Kiyomizu Stage, a National Treasure of Japan, supported by huge wooden pillars and standing about 12 meters above the ground, creating a very impressive visual effect.
Below the temple is the shopping street Kiyomizu-zaka, with Sannen-zaka selling various Kyoto specialties such as Kiyomizu pottery and handicrafts. Especially at Kiyomizu-dera, many men and women in kimonos take pictures, which not only fits well but also enhances the charm of the ancient capital, just like Hanfu.
The cherry blossom is Japan's national flower, and every spring when the cherry blossoms bloom, the news tracks and reports on the cherry blossom front. All of Japan is enveloped in the romance of cherry blossoms.
Therefore, if you can only choose one time to travel to Japan, set off in spring. Every corner is beautiful, not to mention the perfect ancient temples. Life is but a journey, and seeing more beautiful sights is the way to make the most of this one-time life.
