The temple has a total of 17 floors and is wrapped by a huge hollow blue dragon, which looks very domineering and mysterious. It is reported that the history of the temple's construction is still a mystery, and some records indicate that the temple only accepts 108 monks, and many devout people come to worship every day. I found that there are many female monks here, and although the dragon temple is very domineering, it seems that only ladies can enter for a visit. We took a taxi from Khao San Road and it cost about 500 Thai baht, taking about 40 minutes. 👔Dress code: Try not to dress too revealingly. Shoes need to be removed before entering the temple. 💰Entrance fee: There is no entrance fee, but at the wish-making area, you will be asked to make a donation and write your wish. There are also several other donation points inside, so it's recommended to have some change with you. Apart from the wish-making area and the donation at the top, I didn't donate anywhere else (because I didn't have any change left 😂). 🌟The Dragon Temple is actually a nunnery with pink walls and a dragon winding its way up. Wat Sam Prang, with its super unique appearance of a dragon wrapped around the temple, was built in 1985. Its English name is Dragon Temple. At the entrance to the temple, you can see the feet and claws of a giant dragon. It is 48 meters high, equivalent to 17 stories, and looks like a huge object. To reach the top, you walk around inside the dragon. It is quite hard to climb 17 stories on your own, but the 360° view from the top is amazing. At the top, there is a small Buddha statue and, for some reason, a Japanese flag🇯🇵, which gives you a sense of intimacy. To get down, you go down inside the dragon you came from, but it is a very steep slope, so you have to be careful. Wat Sam Prang is a bit of a theme park, with a large Buddha, Tathagata statues, and animal objects, so you can enjoy a lot. It is 40 km away from the center of Bangkok, there is no transportation, and it costs about 170 baht one way by taxi from Lakson Station, the last stop on the BTS Silom Line. After visiting the Phra Pathom Chedi, I thought it would be nice to take a taxi to the Dragon Tower for a stroll. I was willing to donate 80 baht for merit-making, which also allowed me to take the elevator straight up to the 16th floor. Slowly taking in the wind and scenery from above, without rushing, felt like a wonderful way to experience life. Alternatively, I preferred walking down along the dragon's body, which was another unique experience. Following the footsteps of thousands around the park to pray for my family was also a meaningful activity. This park is definitely worth exploring.
