Compared to West Lake, I prefer this niche and free route in Hangzhou
When traveling to Hangzhou, I sincerely recommend spending half a day visiting Wushan Scenic Area. Say goodbye to the bustling crowds of West Lake and slowly experience the local life of Hangzhou from Fifteen Kui Alley to Chenghuang Pavilion.
This used to be the 'city center' of old Hangzhou. On one side, you have the bustling life of Dajing Alley and Qinghefang; on the other side, you have the serene temples of Wugong Temple and Yaowang Temple; and in Fifteen Kui Alley, you can follow the trail of 'Tomb Notes'.
❤️ Summarizing the places in Hangzhou related to 'Tomb Notes'.
'I am Wu Xie, living on Hefang Street, near Wushan Residence by Xiling Seal Society.'
'50 years later, at Xiling Seal Society in Hangzhou, my thoughts were interrupted by an old man.'
'I and the Silent Bottle found a window seat at Lou Wai Lou.'
'He had already gone downstairs. I took a few sullen puffs of my cigarette, stood up, leaned against the window, and saw him walking away along Gushan Road.'
'I chased him all the way to Beishan Road, sweating all over but still couldn't catch up with him.'
'We met at a barbershop he often visited by West Lake. Fatty and I sat on a bench by West Lake, opened a beer, and sighed deeply.'
'Or maybe, the little brother really had no money, and he wasn't taking a taxi but walking. If so, it would be good if he had reached Yan'an Road by now.'

📷 Must-Visit Spots
1️⃣ Xiaoxia Lane in Fifteen Kui Alley, the first stop. The alley with blooming trumpet creepers feels like a scene from an anime movie. Standing on the steps of the alley, you can get the popular photo spot of Wangxian Pavilion!
2️⃣ Wushan Residence, located in Fifteen Kui Alley, is Wu Xie's home in 'Tomb Notes'. Many cosplayers gather here, and fans can check in.
3️⃣ Wugong Temple
A quiet little temple dedicated to Wu Zixu, a minister of the state of Wu, with two courtyards and three halls. You can overlook the Southern Song Imperial Street from here!
4️⃣ Chenghuang Pavilion
Located at the top of Wushan Square, it is the best place to capture the panoramic view of Wushan Scenic Area, especially at dusk when the scenery is more enchanting. You can also get unique shots of Leifeng Pagoda!
5️⃣ Wugong Temple
The family temple of the Southern Song emperors, located halfway up the mountain, surrounded by lush summer trees, with a cool breeze, making it a comfortable place to daydream!
⚠️ Notes:
1. Bring mosquito repellent, as there are quite a few mosquitoes on the mountain.
2. There are fewer people on weekdays, and it gets busier on weekends. It is recommended to visit in the morning or evening when the light is more beautiful and there are fewer people.
