(So many places were pet-friendly, which was a nice surprise.) 3h drive from Shanghai. The **Anji Grand Canyon hike** was the highlight—a proper little adventure! The riverbed walk took about 2 hours, scrambling over rocks and passing waterfalls with lots of ponds. Not too hard, but you’ve gotta watch your step—intermediate level, I’d say. So worth it though. In warmer weather would be even more amazing. We tried the **Dahuang Bamboo Forest** but left after 15 mins. Felt too touristy with busses of people (and honestly, a bit boring). Instead, we stumbled upon **Pubu Café**, and wow—what a gem! Set next to three man-made waterfalls, this place has a bamboo forest walk, outdoor seating, and even live music setups. Super chill vibe, great for coffee Stayed in a little homestay right near the canyon—simple but perfect, with local food and views of the mountains. **Final take**: Skip the crowded bamboo forest if you’re not into toursity spots. Do the canyon hike, find Pubu Café, and enjoy Anji’s quieter, wilder side. 10/10 for a dog-friendly, nature-packed trip!

You can bring your own ski equipment or rent it at the scenic area, and be sure to take safety precautions before skiing 4. There are several ski trails in the scenic area to choose from (2 beginner, 3 intermediate, 2 advanced), choose the right ski trail according to your own conditions 5.
