Cozy little family-run place. The udon and Hamburg were tasty, homemade style. I liked the wooden tables and the quiet vibe, it felt really relaxed. Just a nice spot for a simple meal.

The sake pairing was a nice surprise. Each glass matched the course really well, especially with the grilled fish. A bit pricey, but it made the meal.

Found this spot in Higashi Chaya. The counter seats are the best part—you get to watch the chef prepare everything right in front of you. It’s a cool way to see the care that goes into each dish.

Stumbled upon this spot wandering the Higashi Chaya District. The oden's seafood broth was so rich and warming, really hit the spot on a chilly afternoon. Just a cozy, simple place to pause and warm up.

Solid lunch spot near the office. The set menu is good value for the portion size. Service was prompt, which is key for a business lunch. Food was tasty, nothing fancy but reliable.

The rice toast was a total surprise. Moist and dense, you’d never guess it was made from rice flour. A really unique find.

Solid oden spot. The radish and boiled egg in the broth are good. Finished with ochazuke, which was a nice, light way to end. Simple and efficient for a quick business dinner.

Booked the tatami room for our year-end party. The five-piece sashimi and grilled salted yellowtail were fresh. Sake list was extensive, which was the main draw for us. A solid spot for Hokuriku fish and drinks.

Been coming here for years. The main cook always makes an effort to chat in English, which is nice.

Tried the marinated fish head for the first time here. It was surprisingly good, with a nice balance of savory and tangy. The portion was huge, definitely enough for two.

Only place I know that does sardines. The grilled one is fresh and plump. Quick lunch spot.

The golden shumai was fantastic, and it paired nicely with the cold beer I had. A fun spot for dumplings.

Stumbled upon this place. Menu's small, but the food is solid. Had the main and a couple sides - all fresh, good flavor. Simple but done right.

A short walk from the station, which is handy. The grilled fish set was decent, a pretty good lunch option. The miso soup could have been a bit warmer, though.

Good ramen, light soy broth. Clean place, staff was friendly. English menu made ordering easy. Convenient location near the station.

A perfect spot on a hot day. The cold grated daikon soba was so refreshing, the noodles were thin but surprisingly filling. The little katsudon had a nice sweet broth. I liked the calm vibe here.

The owners are so friendly, and the English menu was a lifesaver for us tourists. The wine list had some nice local options too.

I was happy to find a dairy-free iced matcha here. The matcha flavor itself was excellent, not too sweet at all. The shaved ice part was just fine, maybe a bit plain. But the quality of the matcha really stood out.

Tsukemen here is solid. Cold noodles are thick and chewy, perfect texture. The hot stone bowl keeps the dipping sauce warm the whole time. Only thing missing is a spicy version. Would hit the spot even more. Quick lunch option done right.

First time with the jibuni donburi. The sauce was thick and had a nice sweetness to it. Very filling for the price. The counter seating was comfortable and the staff were pleasant.
