Got the last table, so booking is a must. The dishes come out staggered, but it's just one chef working hard back there.

Wood-fired pizza is the real deal here. The crust has that perfect char, and the toppings taste fresh. A bit pricey for the size, but it's good.

The hand-drip coffee here is a real treat. I tried the Yemeni beans today. Watching them prepare it so carefully at the counter is half the fun. The selection of origins is impressive.

The lunch special with unlimited soup and rice is a good deal. The miso soup was simple but had a nice depth, and the warm rice was a good base. The main dish itself was just okay, but the refills make it a practical choice for a quick meal.

The sushi was good, but the real star was the sake pairing. The chef suggested a junmai daiginjo that had this crisp, clean finish. It just clicked with the fatty tuna. Made the whole meal more interesting. A bit pricey for the pour, but worth it for the experience.

The staff took a moment to explain how long the takeout sushi would last. Really handy to know, since I was grabbing it for a train ride later.

The kamaage shiratama namafu was a highlight. The texture was just right, soft and chewy. Dipping the warm mochi into the brown sugar syrup and kinako was a simple, satisfying end to the meal. Not too heavy at all.

Cozy little place run by a nice couple. The food was fresh and tasted pretty authentic. They were patient with my limited Japanese, which was appreciated. A solid, quiet spot for a simple meal.

A local told me about this place. Love the modern vibe and the view of the moat. Perfect for a quiet coffee, even when it's busy.

Tried the daily special sashimi set. The tandoori chicken main was a nice change from the usual. Quick service, got my order fast. Good for a quick lunch.

The courses really highlighted the local ingredients. The quiet townhouse setting was a nice touch.

Definitely a must-visit for seafood lovers! The multiple courses were delightful, and the staff provided excellent service, making the whole experience enjoyable.

Tried the set course at Kinjoro's more casual spot. The presentation was really nice, and the pacing between dishes felt just right. A solid, relaxed way to get a taste of their style.

Cute little place in Higashiyama. I'm particular about desserts. Their chestnut cream topping was the highlight for me – really nutty and rich, not overly sweet. A nice surprise. The rest was fine, but that cream stood out.
