The food, drinks, live music, and ambiance are all amazing. What a great little find. I will definitely be coming back here!

Quaint atmosphere and specialty foods. Live music was a bonus with the out door seating. Great local place

In this restaurant surrounded by centuries-old oak trees and wooden houses, you can enjoy delicious marinated noodles, special for Masala white wine, and burdock burger.

Have heard good things about Maxine's On Shine, but it took Bite 30 to motivate us to dine here. In a funky storefront, this restaurant does shine. Food was prepared with care and tastes were flavorful. No hard liquor is served, just beer & wine. Parking may be difficult, but it's a neighborhood, so not too hard to find street parking as their lot is only for 4-5 cars. Only drawback was on a Saturday night with a guitarist/singer, and every table filled, it was very loud. That made it difficult to converse without yelling, making it hard to hear. With that said, I think our foursome would still recommend this little neighborhood treasure.

My guy and I took advantage of the Bite30 promotion happening in June to try out (finally!) Maxine's on Shine, a really nifty spot tucked in a downtown neighborhood, for dinner. Parking for us on a Wednesday night was fine, but I can see how for brunch and weekend nights it's likely a mess. We didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor seating because of rain, but it looked really welcoming and we hope to go back to sit out there in the fall - particularly because inside the restaurant, we couldn't hear one another speak, while sitting right next to each other. The acoustics are just awful. The poor guitarist was barely audible and he was only steps away, but I could hear every word of the conversations of larger parties in the back. Other than that though, the service was excellent, and the team seemed to work together really well. It was nice to be greeted by the owners, who are really fun people that sponsor local art in their spot (the artist on display was there that evening). Food was very good - particularly the Maxine's pasta dish (I had mine with shrimp) and the cheese cigars. I also appreciated the Bite30 wine pairing being offered; their selections went really well with the dishes I had. We'll be back for a brunch when the weather cools off!
