We had great service from the front desk, Sri and stayed in the 1-bedroom suite with our 1 YO toddler. Room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfy even for our baby.
The kids club was spacious enough for the little one to crawl and have fun. Just a word of caution to parents of crawlers, to perhaps let your LO wear dark coloured clothes, as the friction from crawling might rub off some colours from the soft floor mats. We love the pools as well. Breakfast spread was good, balanced between some western and local food.
Location wise, it is quiet enough and away from the busy roads, but still very accessible via grab/taxis. Service was also great throughout our stay. We will be back!
Thanks to the frontline staff: Cinthya. Ramadhan & Ryan (buggy team), and Sahrul (front desk via WA) your service was truly the saving grace of this stay. The maintenance team also responded promptly to some minor issues.
We appreciated the upgrade to a 2-bedroom hilltop villa with a serene view. Breakfast was a highlight: roti jala was tasty, fish noodle soup flavorful, salad and cold cuts were a nice touch, and the jamu shots were a great bonus.
For the premium price Montigo charges, the villa’s facilities don’t match. Many parts are worn out, and basic items like a microwave or simple utensils are missing, issues that have been raised by other guests before, yet management doesn’t seem to act.
One incident on 30 August at breakfast also needs attention: at the fish noodle counter, there was no queue. After the lady in front of me got her two bowls, I asked the younger male staff with glasses for one bowl ('mie nya satu') and pointed at the bowl and showing 1, as there was 2 bowls of noodles were already prepared and just needed soup poured in. Instead, he looked at me, took a plate of food, and literally walked away mid-service, while I was waiting and the older regular staff was busy preparing mie goreng. Thinking he’d return or serve another customer, but he disappeared into the kitchen. I stood there, waiting to be served. I sympathize the older regular guy preparing the mie goreng as he had to multi task and serve me, instead of the younger guy helping his colleague and also serving me. It was a fast one but yet the younger guy rather leave customer waiting and he disappeared straight to the kitchen with a plate. (I wonder if it’s for him or for kitchen staff?) This may seem small, but it leaves a bad impression on guests. I strongly urge management to review this specific incident and coach that staff, so it does not happen again, unfortunately i didn't see his name, he was wearing black thick rimmed glasses.
In short, Montigo resort has genuinely great frontline/service staff who try their best, but upper management needs to step up: refresh the villas, provide basic amenities, and ensure service quality and building maintenance match the “luxury” price tag. As it stands, overall feels overpriced for what is delivered.
We had a wonderful stay at Swiss-Belhotel Batam. The Deluxe Room was large, clean, and very spacious, which made our trip very comfortable. A big thank you to Tesa, who was extremely kind and thoughtful. She helped us prearrange an anniversary surprise with a beautiful flower setup in the room. Her warm hospitality really made our stay memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and great service in Batam!
This resort stands out as one of the best I've experienced in recent memory! It boasts a beautiful environment and rooms that are both aesthetically pleasing and well-appointed. The staff consistently provided helpful and polite service. I particularly appreciated the complimentary bicycles for convenient travel within the resort. The food quality was also impressive. What solidified my positive experience was their outstanding service recovery: upon discovering a minor termite issue in my first room, they promptly upgraded me to a Seaview suite. This impeccable service ensures I'll be back for another retreat!
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for the wonderful service I received during my recent stay at Harris Batam Centre Hotel From 27Jul till 29Jul2025. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The room was spotless, the facilities were excellent, and every request I made was handled with professionalism and genuine care.
Special thanks to all your staff especially to your GRO Ms Trestha for going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. It’s clear that all your teams efforts (Fauzi, Lily, Rios, JoJo, Michael) is committed to delivering outstanding hospitality. I will not hesitate to recommend Harris Batam Centre again to others and look forward to returning in the future.
Thank you once again for a truly memorable experience.
Sincerely,
Haron Hussin

Great first stay at Harris Resort Barelang!
We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The kids had so much fun, especially in the foam pool — a big hit! The resort has a beautiful view and is very kid-friendly, with plenty of activities and space for families.
Highly recommended for a relaxing family getaway. Will definitely come back!
Repeat stay for us. As usual great and friendly staff. Appreciate the separate shower and bathtub. Great water pressure and hot temperature. Breakfast seems to have improved in terms of taste or maybe that's just me :) Prompt service as usual at breakfast in clearing the plates and topping up food even though they were running at full capacity.

All the staff are friendly and accomodating. Wasn't able to get all their names including those who are in Xana Bar but they are all welcoming! Driver Bhuraman and Stella at the main counter are very kind and professional. They were the first two staff who welcome us warmly :)
The place is perfect for relaxing. We love the style and the homey vibes of their room. We appreciate that they offer us to check in early with no extra charges. We really enjoyed the infinity pool and the fine-sand beach. Glad that we have experienced the sea turtle release activity which made the stay more meaningful. We just wish we spent more time to relax while having drinks at Xana Bar but the rain came along with us.
Food prices were reasonable and taste absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the buffet breakfast especially their local dishes.
The location is not nearby to go to places but very accessible with grab (which they launched only last May around the area). They have free shuttle service from Ferry terminal so it's also hassle free.
Will definitely book this hotel again. Highly recommended for lowkey stays. :)
A very nice and peaceful resort. Direct access to the beach, clean and spacious rooms too. Super excellent customer service from the staff. The location maybe a bit far from the city but do you know what is the best about this resort? They have a standby nurse even at night! We had an emergency situation on our first night staying here but the staffs were really helpful. Shoutout to Nurse Alfani, Manager Pak Maxi, Security Zamdoni, and Driver Adioni. I am forever grateful for their service and efforts in helping my father from hotel to the hospital. They even packed us the breakfast the morning after as we were rushed back home. We were really touched by their hospitality. I never feel so secure and happy in a hotel just like how I felt in Turi Beach Resort. 100% recommended and will definitely come back
Overall, extremely pleasant experience.
Location was near Nagoya Hill area with many essentials stores nearby that were accessible by a designated pathway that leads out from the hotel lobby lift area. There’s also a Starbucks cafe downstairs at the lobby of the hotel that comes with a pool table.
Room was great. Service was excellent and even satisfied my extra requirement of having a birthday cake surprise for my partner which was greatly appreciated. Room amenities were all alright. Toiletries were more than adequate which was really great! Comes with a bathtub big enough for two. TV was big enough and comes with Netflix. Breakfast had a widespread of cuisines and pool and gym amenities were really satisfactory.
E-hailing services such as Grab and Gojek were easily booked from the hotel lobby. Security assuring and tight with every car entering the hotel premises being subjected to a security check.
Hotel doorman was extremely friendly and helpful.Room service was extraordinary and was very good and relatively cheap!
Some areas for improvement include:
- Some of the light switches in the room were either not functioning or it was difficult to switch the light on or off probably due to the electrical contact issue.
- The peephole was loose and was not functioning properly.
Overall, a very pleasant and satisfactory experience. Definitely recommend!!! :)

TThomas96My friends and I recently stayed at Nagoya Mansion Hotel and Residence, and overall, it was a satisfying experience. The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a short walking distance from Nagoya Hill Mall, making it ideal for shopping and dining.
The room facilities were average but adequate, and the cleanliness was up to standard. Although the absence of a hairdryer in the room was a minor inconvenience, the friendly and professional staff more than made up for it. They were very accommodating, even arranging for us to check in early without any additional charges, which was greatly appreciated.
Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. The hotel’s convenient location and excellent service make it highly recommendable to others. With some improvements to the facilities, it would be perfect!
JJimmycrimpsWe had a great experience at the resort, for its impeccable and attentive staff service and amenities within. There isn’t much excitement within the whole Bintan Resort area, but Natra Bintan offers much for its location beside the Treasure Bay. Nice water theme park to chill in for most part of the day. Jacuzzi within our stay is a bonus. Saturday night BBQ special is wonderful. You can also hop over to the Anmon Resort next door for a different atmosphere with open air, movie screening and live band.
Things are pricey though. Prepare lotsa money to enjoy your time in the Bintan Resort area.

MMrSenThis could be a 5* thing, for now it feels more like 4 to 4.5 * for me. Let me explain.
First of all, there are many really big upsides for the Nirwana Resort:
- The hotel is in a wonderful location. The beach directly in front of the hotel is beautiful, however if you explore a little further, the beach right next (connected to some rentable mini-houses) is also part of the Nirwana area and even cleaner and more inviting for a direct swim.
- The room was even nicer than anticipated via the photos. Everything was tastefully designed, clean and room-service did a great job daily. The hotel itself is abut 35 years old, very close to the sea and constantly exposed to salty winds. It's just amazing that they managed to maintain the open-corridors in such a great condition. There's a lot of wooden features (which look really good imho).
- The staff is friendly and helpful. You will find plenty of activities if that is your thing.
Now to the kinda neutral part: Some of the in-hotel facilities were not available during our stay. For example to get to the gym you had to switch to another building a few hundret meters away. You still get everything you need, so it's not really a complaint - more a thing of convenience but since all the surrounding area is pretty nice I would recommend exploring a bit anyway.
The two main negative factors were:
- It's a very secluded resort and there is no normal supermarket or anything similar nearby for basic daily needs like water or what-have-you. This means you will need to pay mega-premiums. 1 L of water costs over 100k Rupias or about 7 to 8 USD. A small bottle of coke is about $3.5. Same goes for all other snacks, drinks and foods. They are very overpriced, just because you don't have a choice. Another example: A pizza + a ”gourmet” burger were close to $50. I wouldn't even complain if it was really ”gourmet”. However not even close: You can eat both, it's not terrible but it's very basic, the pizza too dry and kinda small, the burger the most boring I had in years and not great beef at all.
Same goes for all the other food we had in the in-house restaurant. It's not bad but every dish feels like something is a bit off or missing or just very basic. Especially for the premium price you pay this seems not right.
There are two more restaurants within ~1km walking distance: An indian restaurant. Pricing is on the higher side but more reasonable than the indoor restaurant. Tandoori chicken was over-spiced (not hot just too strong taste with nothing to compliment it) and very dry/boring. The infamous butter chicken was great, though. I would recommend the ”Spicy restaurant” (4 stars) but make sure you get something with sauce.
And then there is a seafood restaurant. It's really pricy (especially when compared to seafood in Batam for example) but you get an incredible fresh and well seasoned fish/crab/prawn selection that makes it worth 100% to visit. Also the view is fantastic.
I actually would rate this whole experience 5 stars - if you would get the basics (water, coke, some smaller snacks) for a fair price; right now this part feels a bit like a rip-off.
Also, local taxi service is a bit over-priced, same goes for activities. I really don't mind spending more, but there needs to be a balance where you don't feel taken advantage of.
If you don't care about that, I would fully recommend the stay at Nirwana Hotel.
KKyaw SwaWe went on a Saturday and it was fully booked. We didn’t get a King size bed that we reserved. Breakfast the next day was also a bit chaotic, as the hotel struggled to seat guests at the same time. We had to wait outside for a while before we got a table.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The amenities were standard. Rooms were clean and nice.
The construction work in front of the hotel somewhat obstructed our view of the sea, which was 10 minutes away from the hotel. We could see the sea from our sea view room, but the view wasn’t that nice.
Sidenote: Did not enjoy the Kelong seafood restaurant. The food was terrible.

GGeorg ChristopherThe hotel and its facilities are very nice. Here and there a few spots of improvements needed but otherwise a very attractive hotel with lovely features. A very pleasant stay starts with a dedicated lounge at the ferry terminal which is available upon arrival and departure (taking care of your visa and other requirements). Travel to the actual hotel is within short 20 minutes by hotel shuttle bus. You can chose between colonial style suites at the main building or near by or Thai/ Bali style villas on the large ground and a short walk away from the main building. The Thai villas are very nice, filled with all the necessary amenities and some top of the range products. Plenty of storage space, outdoor veranda seating and well kept exterior make it really nice. At the main section, the pool is with its 50 meter in length a true highlight, together with the very easy and close proximity to the pristine and huge beach section. Although facing north, the beach is actually in a bay and can be explored for hours. Also well worth mentioning is the spa which provides truly amazing treatments administered by very experienced therapists who will truly pamper you from start to finish.
Regrettably, there are also a number of shortcomings. Although the hotel provides insect repellant for your daily use, even the best of preventions and best of cleaning/ spraying efforts of the staff will not stop billions of sand flees attacking you on the beach, especially after rain or during the evening hours when you become their dinner.
However, the biggest drawback is the food and beverage section. For a hotel operating in such a high price category, the restaurant is a true letdown perhaps even the sole reason for not coming back again. Yes staff everywhere is very friendly, attentive and making it their business to know you by your first name from the start, but the entire food and beverage section requires a lot of improvements to even get close to a star rated service. Yes the drinks are well made (guess can be expected at prices of US$20 plus) but the restaurant service truly lacks what it takes. The food, expensive as it is, lacks any sort of imagination, is void of any special touches, and surely does not represent Indonesian cuisine in any shape or form. As said, staff are very friendly and trying their best however, if they are not taught the basics or led by indifferent managers, then things need to change. Management comes from the top.
In summary, if you are looking for a nice place to relax in a colonial style building, not too crowded with a lovely pool, then please try the Sanchaya. However, if you looking for cuisine which is anything but poor, not even ordinary, then you better look elsewhere.
JJayden Ho LCHad 2 nights with Holiday Inn Resort Bintan Lagoi Beach. Overall - Fantastic Stay.
Touched down in the morning. Went around the resort. Need to orientate yourself with the place. Remember to scan the QR code in the room for all the information including the resort map. Had a super early check-in at around 11am. That's very nice of them to Whatsapp me. It is indeed a good direct platform to ask questions and get information from the hotel in a quick manner. Played the outdoor water playground with my kids, checked out the Mangrove House activities. Please request the hotel side to send you the day activities of the Mangrove House so you don't miss the activities you want to participate. So you can plan on what you want to do for the days you are there.
The stay is also just beside Hotel Indigo. Which cater another food selection in the from the restaurant SugarBeats. Beach was nice and clean. With small resting couches with pillow. Every where you go. You can just rest on those couches. This is something that I like.
Just 1 bad point - The hotel staff should look at how to reduce the population of the houseflies. I feel like it is quite irritating when we are having the meals. Experienced this during indoor and our outdoor meals.
AAnonymous UserI had a great stay. The beach was less than 5 minutes walk from my room at level 2. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and nice especially the people at Rempah Restaurant, always checking in with you if there was anything short from their end or anything about the hotel. Breakfast spread was great with lots of variety. Super love that they have the sambal corner. Booking of spa was also seamless. Live music every night for the people at the bar but everyone in their room can enjoy it too from the balcony. Special mention to the staff at the restaurant and people at the concierge for helping me with directions and everything I had to ask and help with. This should have been a 5 star ⭐.
GGuest UserWent during sch holidays, hotel was clean and new furnishings, we liked the environment which was chill an
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo. My room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and amenities was Secntia brand which was nice. The check-in snd check out process was seamless, service staff was great throughout as they were always greeted us with a smile, very friendly and helpful (shoutout to willy, ilman, tommy, adel & many more). We loved the hotel's pool area, and the breakfast buffet could have more live stations and variety. The location was near Plaza Lagoi & i would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
