Rigi(Mr Rigi)

Mount Rigi is the frontier of the Alps and is known as the "Queen of Mountains." From the top of the mountain, you can overlook the panoramic view of the entire Alps and extend to the Black Forest of Germany and the plains of France.

As early as the 19th century, cultural celebrities such as Victor Hugo visited here, and Queen Victoria of England also visited Mount Rigi in 1864. Mountain Railways and Cable Cars Visitors can choose to take mountain railway trains or cable cars to climb the mountain. Starting from Fitznau, there is Europe's first cog-rail mountaineering railway built in 1871. There is also a cog-rail mountaineering railway starting from Goldau. Both lines can reach the summit (RigiKulm). If you start from Weggis, you can take the cable car line and enjoy the magnificent scenery of Mount Rigi from high altitude, but you will only reach the middle station of the mountain - the mid-mountain town of Kaltbad. The walking trails on Mount Rigi are relatively gentle, and more than 100 kilometers of walking trails extend from top to bottom on the side of the mountain. There are thousands of species of alpine vegetation here, and there is even a mountain flower trail. There is also a gentle downhill slope that can be walked in about 2 hours. The scenery is pleasant and does not require particularly strong physical strength.

Experience sports The mid-mountain town of Kaltbad in the middle of Mount Rigi is a great place to appreciate the changing scenery of the four seasons. You can experience a variety of sports here, including skiing, sledding, skating, landscape cross-country, and more. The Alpine Cross-Country Ski School here offers instruction courses for beginners. Accommodation and catering Various hotels, restaurants and holiday apartments are scattered in the St. Regis Mountains, with a strong Swiss style. There is also a restaurant with a terrace and a beautiful viewpoint for dining and relaxing.
